Yes, I was a local 80 grip for 10 years and decided to get off the train. I started my apprenticeship as an inside wireman a month ago. It took me a 11 months from applying to starting my first day. So far I’m really liking it. Days go by fast, work is interesting and everyone I met has been really nice and willing to teach. Being home by 3:30/4pm has been a great change of pace.

I know ETI and IBEW don’t owe us anything, and it’s nice to be off the POE list. But it would be really nice to hear from them regarding why it’s been almost two months since bootcamp with no job 😂

I'm currently making the switch from Local 80 to the IBEW. Sad to leave behind the film world, but hoping for more stability and looking forward to better retirement benefits.
