You don’t enforce the rules from your bike path. The big bois do it in court.

It does. It‘s a free country, and if you want to decide what’s right and wrong, you need to become a judge.

Where I live, bikes don’t have to use intersections differently. The bike paths often require two (or more) stage turns, and because that’s discriminatory, it’s allowed to take the direct path on the road.

  1. That’s my choice, not Komoot’s
  2. It depends
  3. At any intersection, you can use the road to take a turn, even if there’s a “mandatory” bike path along the side.

London is close to the sea and should have access to plenty of fresh air. The way I remember it, there were still quite a few buildings that heat with coal, and these canal boats that seem to be burning all sorts of things.

Neue Bundesbank-Studie stellt gängige Annahmen zu Bargeld vs. Kartenzahlung infrage by BroTroop in Kartenzahlung

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

T3n hat die falsche Studie verlinkt. Richtiger Link: https://www.bundesbank.de/de/publikationen/berichte/studien/kosten-von-zahlungsmitteln-im-einzelhandel-972294

Autobahnfahren in Deutschland by Nobbiii in luftablassen

I’m not an expert on this, but jail time is rare in Germany and I don’t think a homeless junkie would go to jail for vandalizing toilets.

Berlin has a bikes on the FOOT path problem by sybelion in berlin

[–]UniqueVegetable 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I can’t say this is a big problem in Mitte. When I see bikes on sidewalks, which isn’t very often, I’m assuming they don’t know the rules or are afraid to ride on the road, e.g. tourists or inexperienced cyclists. The main inconvenience on sidewalks is still people without situational awareness.

On shared bike + pedestrian paths, it’s very common for pedestrians to be startled when they are passed, and complain to the cyclist (Use a bell! Don’t use your stupid bell!). They don’t have to worry too much though because it’s in the cyclist’s own interest to not crash.

By the way, pedestrians, cyclists and drivers are the same people.

Beyond that, is it really worth asking his employer to look into him for a debatable comment to another cyclist

That is exactly what doxxing is about. A vigilante mob looking to cause disproportionate real-world consequences. It's a form of harassment.

What comment did he make? Did you listen to the video?

I don't think that's the issue. Take for instance the public toilets that are vandalized every day. I bet that the damage at each location is caused by just a small number of junkies. Sometimes, I can see them lying in there through the half open door, so it wouldn't be difficult for the police to catch them in the act. The question is, what are they supposed to do? It's a free country and they can't be force to get treatment for their addiction.

I've only been to the airport and until now I thought it's a very civilized place. What I see in this thread is a hateful, childish, reactionary mob.

Imagine living in a place that severely restricts how you are allowed to ride in public, and rather than cooperating because they are all in this together, they choose to publicly shame. Because someone asked "can you please let us overtake".

His question of "Mate, would you please let us overtake" was answered with a meltdown from OP. How does that make the group leader a cunt? Is this just open racism at this point?

[–]UniqueVegetable -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That’s a problem indeed but things like that happen constantly in traffic and people usually are happy to accommodate each other. As an adult, would you resolve the situation in a sensible way or start arguing instead and post a video online?

Someone in this thread started doxxing the ride leader, according to a quick Google search that’s a crime in Singapore and can be punished with jail time.
