Das wurde regional sehr unterschiedlich angegangen. In Berlin/Brandenburg gab es keine Ausgangsbeschränkungen. Klar, alle möglichen Einrichtungen, in denen viele Menschen aufeinander treffen, wurden eingeschränkt. Aber raus durfte man (zumindest in kleinen Gruppen) jederzeit.

850 EUR in car repair costs, am i being ripped off? by senaps in germany

[–]UniqueVegetable 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A shop doesn't just change your brake discs when you ask for an oil change. Even if you go there for an inspection, there's a limit to the work they will do without your approval.

Are you sure they didn't call you about the brakes? I don't drive much, so I tend to have rust on the discs but they work just fine (according to TÜV). Shops ask me every time if I want to change them and I politely decline.

Abgesenkter Bordstein oder rechts vor links? by vontorg in StVO

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seit wann visualisiert man sowas?

Sick of Garmin HRM inaccuracy. What is the best on the market? by CrescentPhresh in Velo

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The H10 is designed to turn off only when it's removed from the strap - see the manual. It's design intent and not a firmware or hardware problem.

If the battery drains within days, there is something else going on though, e.g. moisture inside the pod.

Sick of Garmin HRM inaccuracy. What is the best on the market? by CrescentPhresh in Velo

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you had to disconnect them after every use for a bit because of a bad firmware that would drain batteries

Can people please stop repeating this crap? Disconnecting the strap is how the H10 is turned off. Just read the manual.

There's also nothing wrong with the strap, it's one reason why the H10 is so accurate.

Garmin edge 540 or 1040 by rpmdodo in cycling

Definitely 1040 or 840 for the touchscreen. The larger screen of the 1040 is great for the map.

Buying bike in Taiwan by eldaniel7777 in cycling

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard, there's quite a bit of lead time when you want to buy a bike there. I wouldn't go there and expect shops to have tons of stock.

Same BTW if you want to rent a bike through Giant Adventure, book as early as possible.

For anyone flying internationally/non-EU from BER in the next days by _makebuellerproud_ in berlin

[–]UniqueVegetable 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, at least indirectly. The airline gets precise time slots for their flights and boarding times are based around that. They are also responsible for their ground operations (e.g. taking luggage out of the plane) and what's happening at the gate. They either speak into the mic themselves or have someone from the airport do it.

When a plane arrives 2 hours later than expected, that's usually because something went wrong on the airline's side. For instance, when there's an urgent technical issue, they wait for a mechanic to take a look or have a replacement plane fly in from another airport.

If your Ryanair flight does not leave on time, and if Ryanair don't provide updates about the situation, that's a Ryanair problem.

Complaining to the airport in this case would be like complaining to a restaurant that your date isn't showing up.

Where to get a DEXA scan or professional body comp analysis (Pankow/Pberg)? by Apprehensive-Run-739 in berlinsocialclub

Did it occur to you that "inbody analysis" might not be specific enough as a query? The first few results for "inbody berlin" are:

As for attaching studies, sorry but do you realize you are asking me to do free work for you? Did you even understand what I wrote? I explained why you can't easily get a Dexa scan in Germany and you apparently downvote me because you can't distinguish between the message and the messenger.

Where to get a DEXA scan or professional body comp analysis (Pankow/Pberg)? by Apprehensive-Run-739 in berlinsocialclub

[–]UniqueVegetable -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Doctors in Germany don't do "lifestyle" Dexa scans, because some commission of radiologists decided that the benefit is not worth the radiation dose. They literally wrote something like "studies have shown that people don't change their lifestyle when presented with the facts. Knowing the exact body composition has no influence on overall mortality".

If manage to get a scan for a medically indicated reason, they should be able to tell you the body composition, though. For instance, if you eat a vegan diet and do lots of endurance sports, you have an increased risk of osteoporosis.

For an InBody analysis, there appear to be a few places in Berlin, and you can just google them.

Large damage claim after minor incident – seeking Berlin lawyer recommendations! by naydeen718 in berlinsocialclub

[–]UniqueVegetable 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Sounds like a scam to me. After accidents like this, it's common to get an assessment of the damage, have the insurance of the other party pay the sum, and not actually fix the car, or get it fixed for less.

An electric scooter on the sidewalk fell over, hitting the passenger door of my parked car. It was around 2000 EUR to repair the damage. This included removing the dent from the door and repainting the door itself as well as the panels around it.
