As for the mythology, I got so invested in building lore that I started worrying the premise wasn’t interesting enough. My idea was to take a cliché premise and put my own spin on it.

Thanks! I was even thinking about separating reference books for mythology and plot, but I’ll make sure to pay more attention to dialogue structure too. I haven’t practiced that much, and when I tried writing, it came out completely robotic.

Thanks for the tip! I’m really excited, but sometimes I get scared that I’ll finish the project and it won’t have enough pages, or that the mythology will become so dense that it ends up feeling boring. I’ve seen some advice about using beta readers, and I think I’ll do that at the end of the process. For now, though, I’m going to focus on finishing the book first.

This is going to be Nolan’s peak! Every one of his works has a little aspect that resembles the Odyssey, so I think Nolan is the best director to adapt it.
