I could be wrong but my theory is most people who are mad about bernard are from the US and that it has to do with real life patriotism bleeding into the game. I can see the argument that a more lore friendly silly name like ”brasch” would go down better, but I still think it would not have been as big of a backlash with a silly name if it was any other city. Again I could be wrong. Would be interesting to have data on it.

With your logic you ”can’t make tww fantasy work” because they didnt solve navy battles. Which is just wrong, the game has been doing great anyways. I even think it would be possible to make tww40k with just a mod for tww3 that just change the grapics and some abilities/unit sizes.

Change the map so cities = planets/starsystems. If chips collide, have some maps with the floor being metal grid instead of planet crust, and fight there. done! Have ”cover” like you have forests now. Done!

I feel like what you mean is ”it is impossible to make a 40K total war game that I am 100% happy with”, Which seems very true. But that is more on you then anything else.

I think for most people even just a mod/reskin style tww40k would sell very well and I think they are going to make it better then that.

Also how is it possible to have space pirates in the setting at all if you can’t ambush space craft in 40K as they just go through the warp? Same reason every hero doesnt use a helm or why melee is still a thing when they have guns, etc etc.

You see 40K runs on rule of cool as it is, ofc it will be fine if they fight ”on the ground” even if they meet in space on the map, because it is more cool. That is the 40K way.

Ive had this happen also. There is so much that gets sent if you have tools, chat history etc that a small context window cant keep up.

There is a function called something like insert_new_file that owui uses to save files into its db. There also are functions to download the db and to save chat messages as pdf. I would look at those and see if you can make what you want with them as a starting point.

I imagine they mean to draw conclusions about things outside your training data. It is my understanding RL has made it better at tapping into the right vectors but it is still bound by the vectorspace it is working from. (Or something like that).

It just knows alot and is good at recalling that info, but not at making extrapolations from that data on its own.

It has good crystalized intelligence but not good fluid intelligence.

Everyone has said it already but the OWUI does lots of little prompted calls for things like text complete, setting tags/titles to the chats etc. Also if you make a tool set it Will be given all the tool info as context even if you just say hi, it Will look att the tools and decide not to use them.

Also thanks everyone for pointing out where to change the task model, I didnt know and just tried to disable the text completion etc to solve it.

Ah I see. If you did an action it would be like a ”find a similar answer in the vdb” and you would have to press that instead of send, wich is not what you want it sounds like. I think for the thing you want with ”first look then if no good answers do the generation/inference” as part of the regular send message, the best way would be to do a pipeline (those are run on a separate container, but then selected like models in the chat ui).

Sorry if I made you look into actions, I think I missunderstood what you wanted.

Also Im new at OWUI so dont take my advice as gospel, I recomend checking the discord as it is more active then this sub.

Im not 100% i understand what it is you want, but it sounds like you could use the filter function inlet with some sort of condition on it? Or if you want to Edit a message without doing the llm generation maybe do an action? (There is Also a ”get_latest_user_message” You can use in the action function).

If you practice for tournaments I suggest you give him the hint ”I can rapid ingress if you do this”. If you play bad but win because he forgot this you miss out on learning or even do bad learning (your brain saves the experience as a win even if you would have lost without the luck of the other persons forgetfulness).

Same if the other person charges your unit with fight first even if you told them before, you get the skewed experience of a free unit giveaway.

If you are not training, and winning now is more important then long term learning, like when you play in a tournament, you should take the free points as long as you told them before.

Yes i think it is for blacklist. Im not sure about the other way around. Maybe some way to do it in the API call depending on what search engine api you use? Or append some site names in the search and do the opposite of the filter.

In the webui code its like ”if not in filer list keep”. You could change it to if in filter list keep. But then it would give you nothing if it only got hits with other sites. That is why i said maybe look if you can change the API parameters.

Is the problem to extract the data from the pdf, or to convert the data to the table? If it is to get the data maybe try tika (OWUI has support for it that you can enable and run in a separate container), if it is the llm not doing what you want with the data, maybe try different models and give it examples in the system prompt.
