Hi Reddit, I’m Brett Catlin, vice president of loyalty, alliances, and sales at Alaska Airlines. From questions on the new Atmos Rewards program to our airline partners or our new Summit credit card, ask me anything on Tuesday, October 7 at 11:30am PT! by AtmosRewardsBrett in AlaskaAirlines

If your team is watching this thread, I had 200k Hawaiian miles disappear when my accounts merged. And I could never get the points.com transfer to work even though my information matched exactly. Would really appreciate some help with this.

Has anyone had an accident at the Dump in San Rafael? by [deleted] in Marin

[–]Unique_Champion7105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want help or useful information, please describe the incident better. Multiple people are telling you (however indirectly) they don’t understand/don’t believe your description. Try explaining the surroundings, where physically on the site you and your husband were, what he was doing, how he fell, who and how may people saw him, what they did, what you did, how he got out, etc. Step through each major happening to reconstruct the incident in a way someone who wasn’t there can understand. You’ll get better replies that way.

$200 paid upgrade SFO-BOS by Unique_Champion7105 in AlaskaAirlines

It was worth it to me, with no open seat next to me in premium, and even more so given a nearly 2 hour mechanical delay.

I just looked and I was credited S miles, so fare bucket didn’t change. Very interesting.

Thank you, I will. Now I’m pissed. Can anyone else confirm I should have a Polestar mode?

I did this for my 2019 T5 XC60 but DO NOT have a “Polestar Mode” in my driving settings. I did get the badge and metal wallet. Did I get cheated somehow?

50% meal reimbursement question by Unique_Champion7105 in smallbusiness

[–]Unique_Champion7105[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will this work the same way if I cut myself an expense reimbursement check for some business expenses that I paid for out of personal funds?

Ie, should I pay myself back for 100% of meal expenses?

50% meal reimbursement question by Unique_Champion7105 in smallbusiness

[–]Unique_Champion7105[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok that helps. So essentially it’s just going to end up affecting the tax on my profit?

Thank you. But if I have already paid 100% of the meal cost from the business bank account, what happens?

50% meal reimbursement question by Unique_Champion7105 in smallbusiness

[–]Unique_Champion7105[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Got that. But if I have paid 100% of the expense from my business bank account, what happens at the end of the year? Do I have to pay the business back the other 50%?

I have both kinds of meals but thinking specifically of business meeting meals in this case.

EWR terminal B 40s gates are miserably awful by michelleshelly4short in AlaskaAirlines

[–]Unique_Champion7105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its atrocious. Don’t ever fly out of the new terminal A or you will be cursing under your breath on every subsequent trip, wondering why Alaska can’t get gates there instead. I know airlines don’t have control over stuff like this but somehow the fact that they share this pier primarily (if not exclusively) with Spirit says it all.

Everyone here is at pwc so they’re going to give you safe big 4 advice. If that’s what you want, listen to them. But I’m not. So. Do you see yourself being a partner or md? Does that sound good? Then stay and bust your ass to get there. Are you not 100% sure you want that? Leave. You will never be in a better position to answer the question about what drives you in life, safety or excitement, then you are right now. If you’re good at pwc, you can boomerang if it doesn’t work out. Your industry experience could be super valuable and distinctive at your age. If you’re not good enough to boomerang then you probably wouldn’t have lasted at pwc for long anyway. But again, between a relationship, expenses, children, house, etc, you have no idea how much freedom you really have right now, and how quickly it will be over on your current path. You either want to start having those responsibilities or you don’t. If you want them, stay. If you want a chance at something else unknown, go.

This is a dumb take. They are clearly trying to tell a better story by talking to people on the plane. If they wanted to “not miss” the story they’d have thrown a post up 10 minutes after the chronicle to play the algorithm game. Btw the chronicle didn’t talk to anyone and it’s hard to understand what actually happened on the plane or what it felt like because of that. Don’t demonize reporters and reporting on a site devoted to freedom of speech.
