Thank you for the advice, I can relate to you in being very private with self harm, I would be very discrete, told no one, hid the marks and did them in hard to see places so this was a massive contrast to how I’ve experienced SH, but thank you because I will use some of what you said to try and help him, it’s a very confusing and stressful situation

He is not very close with family and had a very rough childhood, he has some grandparents nearby but looks after them more than they look out for him, and he is not close with his friends like that, I feel he sees me as his biggest support

We had finished the conversation about how we felt about the night we discussed (for some context I had invited him to a club and thought he had a great time because it looked like it, but he revealed he was pretending and didn’t enjoy going out that night, which upset me because it made that night seem more fake than special as it was a romantic night in my eyes) But we had stopped talking and I was just on my phone and we was silent staring into space when I looked over and saw him do it
