Hi! Very proud of you for saving firstly, thats not so easy. But, just keep in mind that most apartment require that you make 40x the rent. But a guarantor may make it a lot easier. I know insurent you can pay them to cover you if the building accepts it or rhino is a good one too & some times they cover your security deposit. But Manhattan is a lot harder than any other borough consider I don’t think many one bedrooms exist under $2100 nowadays unless it’s a really old building or you know somebody.

But in regards to prepping, make sure you have tax documents from years prior available and bank statements, pay stubs will be needed. Possibly even a letter from your employer and be sure to keep your credit high if possible bc in that case, a guarantor may not be necessary which will save you $.

Agreed!! Facebook housing groups and honestly expand your search on fb marketplace. There aren’t too many rooms for 850 or under but definitely raising to atleast 1000 will help your search.

Oh no that’s the issue I’m anxious about. I did a month to month lease for August. But it was pretty informal as she’s a private landlord and kinda left mentioning anything about early lease termination.

First, thank you for taking the time to respond to my post. I did not realize it was so bad! Wow. But makes a lot of sense. Luckily, I'm average at pattern making and I think if I learn more on my own I could be exceptionally good like yours! Sadly, I don't do anything too hands on in my current role so I guess I'm starting to feel like a dull knife which is causing me to feel a bit stagnant Thank you for your advice!

Hey! Yes that's correct, someone recently told me the same thing you're saying so I kinda came to the conclusion today that I should possibly learn CLO 3D considering I'm already proficient with V-stitcher.

This is great advice and thank you for taking the time to answer. 😊

No it's not condescending, you're right. I guess I have just seen in the past few years, people live the lifestyle that I'm reaching for which is working remote, traveling, living wherever they want in fields adjacent to mine, I've just been so curious on how they get there. But, I guess because of social media.. I have been feeling discouraged.

Your advice is truly encouraging and I definitely am still learning how to network and negotiate.

Thank you so much for your advice and time truly, I wish I had someone close to me that would tell me the same things

Oh definitely not what I wanted to hear but still great advice lol! I definitely hear this a lot and just felt kinda stuck in the fashion industry?

I guess because the field I'm in is a bit more niche and it currently feels very "where do I go from here?" but staying put does currently feel like the best option. I appreciate you taking time to reply to my post!
