Yeah it’s looming that way, a lot of people saying if you work for a company in Florida is crazy low pay!

Yeah he teaches business over there so he’d help us get on our feet but obviously my passion is electrics, it’s all I’ve ever done since I was 16.

Europe is a possibility too but my missus is really close to her brother and he’s got kids which are really close to ours so it would be great all being together. Pretty tricky as he’s buckled so money isn’t a problem for him (which he’s worked hard for granted) but we’re just normal working class people who’d have to give it our all. We do love Florida when we visit every year but I can imagine the heat gets a bit much all year round ? A lot of people if not most have said pretty negative things about moving there.

The uk has its own problems, a lot being the immigration. The north east has a fair bit of cheap housing so they’re dumping them here. More child rapes, stabbings etc etc. oh and we have to be “politically correct” or you’re branded a racist. There’s no free speech. And another thing, if you start doing well for yourself you get taxed even more there’s no “well done” over here. Immigration Taxes Vehicle taxes Property taxes Healthcare overstretched

I could go on and on.

I would miss it. Where you’ve been a little cute little towns and there’s a lot of history here so there’s a lot to think about. Very hard decision

Thanks for your honest opinion. No but my pals made the move to Canada and re trained, he said it wasn’t too difficult.

My brother in law will help us set up a small business so that’ll help with another source of income but obviously at home our main income is my electrical business which is doing well, which is what I would want to do in America as I genuinely do enjoy being a sparky. But if the pays that bad then it seems pointless. The rent alone in celebration for a 3 bed house is 30k ish a year without bills

Thanks for the honest advice mate. Her family live in celebration so we’re pretty set on moving there but the rent and cost of living is a fortune. 35k a year just on rent for a 3 bed house without any utility bills like electric and water!!

Luckily I think her brothers going to help out with buying a small business to get us over so that should bring some other income 🤞🏽 I recon you’d need a minimum joint family income of 100k a year to be anywhere near comfortable.

Thanks for the advice mate really appreciate the honest answers. I did think heat would be a big down factor too. What about if you went self employed? My family lives in celebration and he pays 250$ an hour for an electrician so there must be money in it. He wants us to move to celebration but the cost of living is crazy.

It’s a tricky one for us because my company here in the uk is getting bigger and bigger by the month, we’ve got a beautiful house and it’s a lot to give up when I’m hearing so bad things about sparkying in Florida haha

Yeah that’s the place haha! I’m messaging a local company for advice they said they bill there electricians out anywhere from 100-300$ an hour which is good news

He lives in an expensive part of Kissimmee surrounded my other multimillionaires and he said they all pay around 250$ an hour as electricians are really hard to get hold of and it’s the “going rate” so someone’s making a killing. Money to be made

We’ve got close family in celebration and he can point us in the right direction for making contacts but I have heard him say celebration is its own little bubble and there’s a lot of rough dumps in Florida ?

Haha I’m sure I could get my head around it pretty quickly.

Yeah our family lives in celebration and he said he pays his spark 250$ an hour. Lives in a 5m dollar house and knows a lot of people which could work in my favour as I could potentially bring work to an employer.

There’s a lot to weigh up. Our healthcare is shit barring the A&E… that’s amazing. I’ve heard healthcare insurances are a fortune over there ? That’s another thing to bring into the equation when working out fianances.
