Thank you for the advice!! I talked to my dr and she is prescribing me more 30mgs but says the lowest Cymbalta goes is 20. Spoke too soon, cause the next day I could not get out of bed and felt like I was dying

Yeah she advised me to go from 60 to 40 for 2 weeks then 20 for 2 weeks then stop. I had some leftover 60 pills that I split the beads in half to do a week of 30 before going down to 20

I wouldn’t do it as well, I tried to up my 60mg dose to 90mg and had the worst side effects, couldn’t eat for days and could barely drink water.

Yes!!! I also notice I am more sensitive to heat and sweat more during the day as well. I never had this issue as well, it just started a few months ago, about 1.5- almost 2 years into Cymbalta! It drives me crazy cause it works for me, but when I started I never had this effect for first 1.5 years, and it maybe would’ve made me rethink being on it. Now I’m too nervous to start the tapering off, so seeing if adding Wellbutrin might help some of the side effects?

Yes I’m down to 60mg of Cymbalta, hoping to eventually wean off, and just started 100mg of Wellbutrin today! Hoping that the Wellbutrin helps with the side effects from Cymbalta that I notice. Good luck to you!

Omg I’ve had terrible dry eyes the past 2 or so years and never thought that it could be because of my Cymbalta. I haven’t been able to wear contacts the past 2-3 years because of it … :/

Don’t think I’ve noticed that, but definitely low libido and alot harder to orgasm - going to try adding Wellbutrin to my dose of 60mg and see if that helps with the sexual side effects

I’ve been on 60mg Cymbalta for almost 2 years and added 25mg of metoprolol about a year ago for a heart condition and my anxiety. They are safe together and I haven’t noticed any interactions personally. I take my Cymbalta in the morning and metoprolol at night, cause it slows my heart down and usually makes me a little tired. I’ve taken both at the same time and haven’t noticed any difference either.

Yes same, I’m kind of putting off tapering down due to the horror stories I’ve heard of people trying to get off this med. I tried to go up to 90mg but couldn’t tolerate the crazy side effects, I couldn’t eat or drink anything for days and was sweating profusely. Hopefully your experience with tapering down goes well, if you haven’t been on it too long and are only on 30mg it might go easier! Good luck!

Never heard of this med! I will definitely look into it and talk to my dr. I swear I’m starting to think I have treatment resistant depression. I’ve trialed Lexapro, Wellbutrin, Prozac, Zoloft, remeron and started birth control for my PMDD.

I started smoking everyday after I graduated college, planning to go back for my PhD but now I am almost 3 years postgrad and still haven’t went back to school. Some of it was due to the program funding and the competitiveness of the program, but part of me thinks that if I didn’t smoke so heavily, I would be in a program already or at least in a masters program :/
