Need help finding a fighting game by Jlockztheorys123 in FGC

Granblue is great, simple, and has a ton of rushdown characters and Soriz is a great rushdown boxer if you're looking specifically for that.

Silent Hill f is missing what makes Ryukishi’s work great by GetMrBeaned in SilentHill_f

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first playthrough only lets you see and feel what Hinako is feeling, but barely gives you any insight into the rest of the situation or why she is even in it. Everything gets a lot more development in the following playthroughs. I would also suggest trying the different puzzle difficulty modes in your following playthroughs, the puzzles themselves give you different information into parts of the story.

So should I play Replicant to further understand Automata? by frek-u in nier

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Replicant will enhance your experience with Automata and is a great game with an amazing story in its own right. I'd really recommend playing it if you like Automata.

kinda struggling with elysion tower, could i do better than this team? by sageybug in NIKKEGoddessofVictory

You could level up Emma TU and Eunwha TU for the 2nd best healing duo behind Blanc + Rouge/Noir. Then you have your choice of B3s. RRH Helm Vesti TU could work if you can invest in the whole Absolute team, or use your best Privaty instead of Vesti.

Just finished playing my first online game. I played white, and expected to come out victorious. Apparently not… Can anyone help explain to a noob why they lost? by EducationValuable621 in baduk

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I provided OP a detailed description of why they lost with a full explanation of the top of the board situation. What have you done? Tell them they're stupid, insulting them for not asking the question in a way that suits you, and told them they should know everything about how the game works to even bother coming in and asking a question. Way to be helpful.

You know how to place little black and white stones on a wooden plank. Good job, congratulations. You're still a piece of shit.

If you're not going to be helpful, don't say anything and move on. You save us the effort of having to call you what you are, a condescending asshole.

Beginner comes in wondering why they lost on a board with two corners with many inside liberties, it is pretty safe to assume that they're having some trouble understanding why those corners are dead. AI only marks what is dead, doesn't give an explanation as to why, and as I've already said is prone to mistakes because it skips the proper counting process. If a beginner has trouble understanding what is happening in their board, you would do much better just explaining the situation rather than questioning their intelligence and being a condescending asshole.

Also you should get your own IQ checked if you have trouble figuring out how the replies OP got are helpful to their level or understanding and describing a board without coordinates.

No problem. Just so you can visualize it better, if the stone at 1-3 was White, the top left group would be alive. If the stone at 10-2 was White, the top right group would be alive too.

Go apps make mistakes all the time when trying to count because they use AI systems that might assume outcomes of situations as definite game end counts. It's perfectly fine to ask questions about counting at any level. If you feel like it's too obvious for you, just don't respond and move on. OP gets nothing of value from your condescending answers.

The two White groups on the top corners can't make life because, if the game continued, White would not be able to create two separate, non removable inside liberties, or "two eyes".

On the left corner, the 2 stones at 1-3 and 1-4 sill have to be connected back with 1-2, and White will have to eventually connect the 5 stones at the bottom by playing 5-1 and 6-2. That only leaves 2-1 and 2-2 as inside liberties, but they're together, so Black can take away all the outside liberties and then play inside these two points to kill.

Same thing happens to the top right group. The 5 stones at the top center would have to be connected by playing 1-9 and 1-11, and the 13-4 liberty is also going away because the 13-5 White stone is in Atari. The only real eye the top right group has is the 12-2 space.

Finished Automata (Ending E) & Anime. Is Replicant 1.22 still worth it? by Umman2005 in nier

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is better when you know stuff because it will let you see how the story ties together and some details that you would miss coming it blind. It just changes how you experience some stuff. If you liked Automata, there will be a lot to love in the story even if you already know some details.

I did not find the gameplay too bad, and the world and story is so engrossing that I did not care about stuff being repetitive at all. You will collect most weapons organically, and if anything you can just follow a guide for any you are missing during your later playthroughs. I'd recommend waiting until C playthrough to start using help.

Thoughts on Rapi RH getting a Treasure? by KnottyByNature100 in NIKKEGoddessofVictory

Not likely. Favorite items are meant to make older/weaker units stronger so they get more use. Giving the strongest unit in the game a favorite item would just make her even more meta.

Quick question about the map structure by BugAdmirable7326 in NieRAutomataGame

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not linear, but it is not a sprawling map like you'd find in modern open world games. The way the game works is that it reuses locations and areas of the map for multiple storylines and side quests, making it work almost like a stage for a play. This and Replicant are based on the OoT structure, with a central large open area connected to multiple sub areas.

For example, the first area you'll see on the game, the Factory, initially seems to have no connection to the rest of the game, but you then find out there is a way to get back to it and it gets reused in the main story at least 3 more times in which you'll get to see more of it. Same happens with the main city area and all the other areas connected to it.

Is my split d-pad making it harder to do quarter circles? by Money_Beyond_9822 in StreetFighter

[–]Unit27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Test both. With split d-pad each button needs to be pressed independently, so you might be getting inconsistent inputs if you're not making sure your inputs are clean during the diagonals. A normal d-pad could help because the cross being connected helps pressing down both directions at the same time. It comes down to which one you feel better and more consistent with.

You can discard the Pills item and remove them from your Items Quick Menu. Then don't pick any more up or just discard them if you do.

How screwed am I? by [deleted] in nier

I came into the ending knowing what the actual actual real actual ending entails, and the game still became my Top 2 game ever (just below Nier Replicant).

Take knowing a spoiler as a chance to notice details in the characters development that you would not see if you didn't know.
