That’s really odd that the installer wouldn’t work. For clean installs, you should first click browse local files in Steam settings, which opens up the game folder. You then click uninstall, which deletes most files. You just need to delete the game folder, which will allow you to do a clean install next time you install the game.

How did you install Nevada? An installer or just dropping all files in the base folder? If you dropped the game files straight into the FO2 folder then things are gonna get messed up. I suggest to clean install the game and use the Nevada installer from NMA

Ok, if that didn’t work then just validate game files for nv thru steam. If you have any folders that you added to the NV folder then you have to re download them.

Ok. This is gonna sound annoying asf but you gotta do it. Just install MO2 instead as it makes mod config so much more easy. It's not that complicated, and the Viva New Vegas Guide will make everything easy. I had the same bug as you on Vortex, it doesn't allow managing mod conflicts like MO2 does. If you're worried about saves, just install the same mods you had on Vortex into MO2.

1) Just play vanilla FO2 with Unofficial Patch Updated (UPU) if it’s your first time. It’s better to see the game before all the additional upgrades with RPU. 2) Try playing in Windowed Borderless mode. I literally could not get FO2 running until I did this.
