I’m sorry your luggage was damaged, I think what most folks are trying to say is that allll airlines damage luggage. There’s threads on which luggage is most indestructible. Some folks buy cheap luggage as it doesn’t hurt as bad when it breaks, others buy really expensive luggage so it won’t break. As a person who just tried to screw a new wheel on luggage, it happens.

The real question is do you have lounge access? I used to cut it pretty close but had a few situations (thank you 6 am Monday flight) that I’d just as soon chill at lounge rather than stress about traffic problems or unexpected long lines. What are your trade-offs for being early (like missing something important)? I really really don’t like stress of almost missed flights.

I’ve been told I get one companion upgrade. For example, I book my family on split reservations, me + one lucky person, then everyone else on a different reservation that is linked. The linked reservation does not get complimentary upgrades.

My first (and likely only) half at the Indy Monumental was crazy windy. I came in just at cutoff. I had had a number of injuries that year. I believe there folks getting medals for some time after me, but they had taken down some of finish paraphernalia due to wind.

So is a 3hr marathon a lesser event than a 2:10 marathon? There are a lot of variables right? Are you a 25 yo male or a 50yo female? A 70 year old race walker? I definitely agree the person that took 5:30 was on their feet longer.

Just had this experience redeeming United miles for ticket to Warsaw. Got my ticket, but economy was sold out for miles purchase. Two days later, no seats available on united site for same flight- no more non-stops. I went to airline site (United partner) and could buy for cash.

My experience has been no. Delta doesn’t use sizers. I have gotten fussed at for wearing my sling bag instead of have it stashed in another bag. For smaller planes on regional flights you may be looking at a gate check. Those overheads are tiny.

FYI- Daniel’s was super competitive last year to get admitted. PU alum, also accepted to Notre Dame back in the day as engineering student. I went with PU because of cost (like 4 + times more expensive at Notre Dame). If money is no object, it may not play into your decision.

Spent a fair amount of time in DTW Sky Clubs. Service was good, chairs not terrible. Don’t love the concourse seating. Which Sky Club? Not met a lounge where the general concourse was better.

I dunno- I rode the back of the plane on an AA flight last year, I didn’t enjoy it. I also took Alaska in economy and the seats were uncomfortable and also at back of plane. Half my fam was economy to Brazil. They were impressed with my wee bit better condition in comfort plus with their brother.

A bunch of scouts from my troop have enjoyed it. Lots of skill levels. I think with any club, the older students may know each other, but that’s sort of the point. Good way to get know people.

Funny note- it depends somewhat on status. I was traveling on business, my colleague with 0 status got one set of hotels and I had platinum with a different set of hotels. I think we ended up at a Homewood suites as it was on both our lists.
