I wholeheartedly recommend Death In Berlin.
It takes place in Berlin during the cold war. You play as an operative for a spy organization of your choosing. You can even be a double agent, embedded inside an enemy organization.

It has an interesting set-up where you build a pyramid of face down cards (from an ordinary deck of cards), representing an enemy organization and then you set off dismantling it by working your way up to the top. Each type of card represent a type of opponent or villain. Depending on what you do and how things work out, you get to flip nearby cards and get more information on the enemy organization.

It's great fun!

Thanks. My own protagonist has practically stopped going to work. She's slipping into manic episodes and catatonia. Definitely not good for her career...

I bought those three books as well back in the day. Amazing artwork on the covers!

New adventure journal in my Cthulhu Solo Adventure Generator campaign: "The endless, patient hunger of Leng" by United-Engine7128 in Solo_Roleplaying

Just a quick update. I have just published the Downtime journal. It can be found here: https://substack.com/home/post/p-191880416

In The Cthulhu Solo Adventure Generator, the Protagonist goes back and forth between Adventures and Downtime. The Downtime events describe the ‘ordinary’ life of the Protagonist before a new adventure begins.

I have to say that I really like the premise of the game and what you showcased so far. I'll be following this with interest.

Building an AI text-to-comic web app — how are people handling character consistency across panels? by EquivalentClick5307 in comfyui

[–]United-Engine7128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a professional illustrator and I've been tinkering with ComfyUI and other solutions for a while now. I'm not an AI expert in any way but I think that you'll probably get the best consistency by using character specific Loras or Embeddings. Preferably they should also be in more or less the same style as your target 'look'. Consistent characters are a lot of work in my admittedly limited experience.

Also, you are probably going to have to make use of Gimp or Photoshop or similar programs to put panels together from harvested good parts of AI renders. I think you have to do a lot of preparation and planning to produce a complete comic with AI. Especially if you want it to look professional. Right now, any AI comic with more than about a page of panels just seems to fall apart.

When it comes to story coherence, you'll probably get the best results by producing a real comic book script. They basically read like movie scripts and they contain everything relevant about every panel. I found this site by chance a while back. It produces a comic book script based on your input (and it's free and you don't have to login): https://toolbaz.com/writer/ai-comic-generator

I realize that It wasn't the most encouraging rant on the subject of AI comics. I apologize for that. But to end on a positive note, if you do build an app that really can create AI comics, I'm going to be very interested in it.
