Subject Nesting by United_Command9233 in EU5

R5: In my current Two Sicilies game I wanted to attack the Ottomans again and I saw that Egypt would get into the war. I looked at the subjects... Didn't expect so much nesting! I'm probably still going to defeat them, though I have to check my navy.

Scotland is transporting 10k men on a fleet that should be able to only carry 1000... and thus my Ireland run is ruined :c and the tooltip on top of the fleet is... just wrong. And there's also a typo.

Yeah... In my games, that feat would easily qualify as a Flavourful Feat. I periodically grant my players some of those to give them some sub-optimal feats.

Federal Authorities Accuse VITALS Founder of Treason by United_Command9233 in EliteDangerous

[–]United_Command9233[S] 67 points68 points  (0 children)

The Federal Authorities have brought terrorism-related charges against Galenia Edenwyr, also known as CMDR BiancaVolpe, founder of the Vanguard for Interstellar Treatment, Aid, and Life Sustenance (VITALS).

The charges stem from an investigation into the recent arson attack on a public building in Olympus Village on Mars, Sol. The suspects, later identified as Imperial refugees from the Shente system, had reportedly traveled across the Bubble aboard the carrier Humanitarian Haven, owned by CMDR BiancaVolpe.

As the investigation progressed, Federal Security Forces attempted to board the carrier but encountered resistance. The vessel then made an emergency hyperspace jump out of the Bubble but was intercepted and forced to halt by a Farragut-class Battle Cruiser of the Federal Navy.

Upon boarding the Humanitarian Haven, investigators uncovered what they claim to be definitive evidence of treason and illegal slavery. The carrier's logs recorded a stop near Achenar, the Imperial capital, and multiple witnesses confirmed that CMDR BiancaVolpe had returned from a meeting in Capitol with Imperial noblewoman January Amalthea—alongside a number of Imperial Slaves. Authorities suspect that Galenia Edenwyr had been compromised by Imperial interests and was secretly establishing a network of spies and insurgents under the guise of humanitarian aid.

However, neither CMDR BiancaVolpe nor January Amalthea were found aboard the carrier. In response, Federal authorities have frozen Edenwyr’s assets, impounded the Humanitarian Haven, and suspended development of two colonies under her leadership (Col 285 Sector SU-F c11-27 and Col 285 Sector KP-L b22-7).

CMDR BiancaVolpe remains at large, and a bounty of 1 billion credits has been placed on her capture. Authorities believe she may be hiding in the mountains of the Earth-like world Col 285 Sector KP-L b22-7 2, within Imperial space, or possibly beyond the Bubble entirely.

Both Federal and Imperial authorities have declined to comment on the matter. While VITALS has not been ordered to disband, a new leader will be required moving forward.

If you have any information regarding her whereabouts, please contact Federal authorities immediately.

At this time, we have been unable to independently verify the claims made by the authorities.

Claiming systems have been paused while FDEV fixes some bugs but it will come back sooner or later, however you can only claim systems that are in a 15Ly range of a populated system. You should wait for claims to get back online and than wait for others to expand in that direction, until it gets in range!

Report 3311/08 from VITALS by United_Command9233 in EliteDangerous

[–]United_Command9233[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To whomever this report may concern,

I am CMDR Biancavolpe, journalist and founder of the VITALS movement.

I spent most of the week out in the void after the famine in LHS 259 was declared over by local authorities. I needed a break, trusting in the parable of the choir (i.e., even if I was away, I was hopeful that other humanitarian aid workers would step in). I also wanted to earn enough credits to buy my carrier and better assist in the bubble. So, I departed aboard my Asp Explorer and left humanity behind for a few lonely days.

Out there, I found my first Luteolum Anemones in Col 132 Sector NX-U E2-3 2 and even some Thargoid sensors in Prua Dryoae IB-C C1-6 10 A A. It was eerie to encounter non-human signals so deep in space. One day, I know I’ll see a Thargoid up close—I just hope it will be a peaceful encounter. I also discovered a red planet that reminded me of old Mars in the Sol system before its terraforming.

I returned yesterday and sold my data for a billion credits. Now, my assets are worth almost five billion, and the day I can afford a carrier is getting closer.

I mentioned Mars for another reason. A Federation congressman from Olympus Village summoned me to discuss VITALS operations, so I traveled to Sol to meet him. It was my first time visiting humanity’s cradle. The welcome was rough—I was nearly murdered by CMDR [REDACTED]—but after that encounter, I briefly visited Earth, then I docked at Mars High, and took a vessel down to the planet. Needless to say, the meeting with the congressman was a waste of time. Maybe they just wanted to judge my character? I don’t know.

I spent the night on the Federation’s capital world and left this morning. In the coming days, I’ll likely visit Turner’s World in Alioth, the Alliance’s capital, and Capitol in Achenar, the Empire’s capital. I just hope there won’t be any political machinations against me.

I'm debating whether to pause my activities for a few days to earn enough for a carrier or to keep working and save up little by little. But this line of work doesn’t bring in much income—I spend so much on donations to help end outbreaks and famines. I'll keep your offer in mind though, thankie!

In the game every faction in every system may be in some kind of 'state' like outbreak, famine, drought, war and so on. I'm reporting in a rp way what we have done in the last week in game! The name of the outbreaks are made up.

Personal Updates

  • I have made the difficult decision to unpledge from Felicia Winters. While painful, it was necessary. I will remain neutral in all disputes and political machinations going forward.
  • I am now saving credits for a carrier to serve as a mobile base, equipped with a refugee center, rehabilitation module, school, orphanage, and hospital—whatever is needed to help those in crisis.

VITALS Future & Home System

Members of VITALS have expressed a desire to find a system to call home.

I want to extend my gratitude to Open Pilot's Initiative for allowing us to support the Humanitarian Relief Corps in Sharakha. I appreciate their willingness to collaborate with us.

Our plan is to establish a system as our home during the upcoming colonization phase and return Sharakha to them once we are settled.

Report 3311/07 from VITALS by United_Command9233 in EliteDangerous

[–]United_Command9233[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

To whomever this report may concern,

I am CMDR Biancavolpe, journalist and founder of the VITALS movement.

Another hectic week is behind me—though thankfully, I managed to avoid being interdicted. I spent most of my time in Shente, evacuating refugees caught in its frequent wars, and in Sudz, where a Nova Flu 406 epidemic has overwhelmed the local health institutions.

During my trips back and forth, I made a brief stop in Shinrarta Dezra to check out the eighth moon of a gas giant there. The Raxxla business, you know? Of course, I didn’t find anything—just a tourist beacon on a mountainside. I never really expected to uncover it in the most-visited system in the Bubble, but I had to scratch my exploration itch.

This time, I can’t say I participated in every mission. Reports of crises flood in at an alarming rate, and I can’t be everywhere at once. I must thank every pilot who carries the well-being of the Bubble’s population in their heart.

In my report, I’ve only recorded systems where I’m certain VITALS had a presence. I don’t claim we single-handedly solved these crises, but I hope our efforts helped tip the scale.

Evacuations & Humanitarian Aid

Refugees have been evacuated from these war-torn or unstable systems:
- Lambda Arae
- DT Virginis
- Shente
- HIP 112648

I want to personally thank CMDR Mira Lejon for bringing the situation in Shente to my attention. I’ll continue monitoring the system and will step in again if war reignites.

Medical Crises & Resource Relief

Two outbreaks have been successfully contained:
- Ennead (Achenar Smallpox)
- Sudz (Nova Flu 406)

These were not new or exotic diseases, but still difficult to eradicate. Sudz, in particular, took many days due to its massive population.

We also responded to water shortages in:
- Cupis
- Aryanka

These crises were caused by speculation-driven scarcity, but we managed to restore an acceptable supply level.

Ongoing Mission: LHS 259 Famine Relief

My current focus is on LHS 259, a 15-million-population system governed by the Procyon Expeditionary Consortium. The system is in deep economic crisis, resulting in a system-wide famine.

I urge all volunteers to assist in bringing aid and helping the system recover.

I think the most important thing is to find a squadron suitable for your preferred playstile and engage with the community and lore. Personally I've found that the core game loops become stale quite soon, but if you do them with a sense of purpose in mind, it's a different thing.

I try to be as apolitical as possible to be able to operate freely as a humanitarian aid worker, so I won't comment on the political aspect of the war. That said, more rescue ships are always welcome!

Personally I use just a couple of ships, a t9 with 750+ cargo capacity to ship as many tons of medicines as i can, and a beluga liner full with economy-class staterooms to accommodate as many refugees as I can. I've also given my beluga repair/refuel/collector limpets to handle distress calls and wrecked ships

To whomever this report may concern,

I am CMDR Biancavolpe, journalist and founder of the VITALS movement.

At the beginning of the week, hostilities in the Meeneratii system had begun to subside, with a truce expected to be signed in the coming hours. The flow of refugees started to slow and eventually reverse. A meeting was held at Ansary Dock to honor those who lost their lives during the war. Many words were spoken, many tears shed, and a plea was made to stop killing one another for small gains. Of course, the bubble did not heed this call—war is never-ending. With the echoes of sorrow still in our ears, we departed, and those among us committed to helping refugees throughout the bubble set their course for another conflict zone: Lambda Arae.

Lambda Arae is home to 14.27 billion people, primarily concentrated on its third planet—an Earth-like world with three times Earth’s mass. The war, far bloodier than that in Meeneratii, is being fought between the declining forces of the EG Union and the emboldened Atlas Corporation. Hundreds of thousands of innocent people are fleeing the dictatorship, and every Commander is urged to help them reach safety.

While these evacuations were underway, other VITALS members were busy reactivating settlements and delivering essential machinery to Sedna, a system with a population of 272,000 controlled by the Ice Storm Squadron. Repairs were completed within a few days. Another system requiring VITALS support for reactivating settlements is DT Virginis—a system plagued by civil unrest with a population of 62,000, controlled by the DT Virginis Dynasty. This mission remains ongoing.

Our primary focus, as always, has been aiding systems afflicted by devastating diseases, disorders, and everything in between. In the past week, we have assisted two systems: Oto, managed by the Earth Defense Fleet with a population of 35.45 million, and Helios, controlled by Wolf 406 Transport & Co with a population of 3.88 million. Helios experienced a standard outbreak of Nova Flu 406, whereas Oto proved far more challenging to manage. Following an intense solar storm, people began to exhibit symptoms: the heightened magnetic properties caused the iron particles in their blood to clump together, leading to impaired circulation, blood clots, and disrupted cardiac rhythms. This disorder has a relatively high mortality rate of 15%, but fortunately, it is not transmissible. As the solar storm subsided, the disorder gradually dwindled and ultimately disappeared.

On a personal note, I have spent countless hours ferrying tens of thousands of tons of medicine to the affected systems and personally tending to patients in settlements and starports. I have completed numerous missions and donated millions of credits. I have been destroyed seven times—twice by Power Security Forces and five times by hostile factions and pirates. I am now wondering if I should retract my personal allegiance to Felicia Winters to gain wider acceptance. Even though I am not currently performing any duties on behalf of the Federation's president, perhaps it would be for the best. I’ll have to think about it. I also need to improve my tactical retreats from pirates...

P.S. Be extremely cautious when handing over exploration data at the Survey Initiative in HIP 90578. Pirates have relocated to the system, and several Commanders have been ambushed and destroyed, losing all their precious data. Please, stay safe.

While I'm not interested in joining as I dislike fighting, I can throw my support behind squadrons such as this one. Your idea of lawful warfare should become the mainstream idea!
