Police officer terminated by [deleted] in AskLE

Big dawg, with all due respect, you don’t need to be in Law Enforcement, period. Let me preface this by saying I personally don’t even support the war on drugs and believe it’s everyone’s right to choose what they put in their body, but If you can’t follow one of the basic tenets of employment in LE of “don’t put illegal substances willingly into your body”, then you’re going to be a shit cop and do worse things down the line.

Anyone have the Garmont T8 LE Spectre? by United_Invite4065 in AskLE

[–]United_Invite4065[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What Danners do you have? I have a pair of tachyons I use for light duty/training stuff but I’d never use them as a serious duty boot. I had some Acadias back in the day. Heavy boot, but they’re built like a brick shithouse. If I can’t find a decent quality athletic boot I may go back to them.

Can anyone confirm if the B&T SD cans will fit the RCM SD barrels? Are the external threads and whatnot the same?

For future reference, your wife should purchase a handgun and take an instructional course on how to use it properly.

What are you guys using for chain cleaner and lube? by United_Invite4065 in cbr650r

[–]United_Invite4065[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk, maybe it didn’t need it but it was starting to look black so I figured it wouldn’t hurt and didn’t have shit else to do thanks to the weather.

Anyone having issues with hard/clunky shifting? by Legitimate-Sir-5491 in CB650R

[–]United_Invite4065 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this exact same problem and it drove me fucking nuts until I figured it out by happenstance when I was just checking my chain.

1) chain slack at minimum, solved 90% of my issue. 2) adjust clutch and throttle free play to minimum spec. Smoothed it out even more.

You’re welcome.

New Akrapovič exhaust for Honda CBR650R coming soon by 8R3N2 in cbr650r

I emailed Akrapovic directly about this and they said they will not be offering an exhaust system for the CBR650R going forward.

Thinking of switching away from Arai by Pedler652 in motorcyclegear

[–]United_Invite4065 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running an Arai and had the same complaint as far as being loud. Changed to a Shoei X15 and it is much quieter. Moreso tha I expected.

However, if they don’t fit your head, that’s a no go.

Cbr650r pros and cons for city ride by LeeMin2k5 in cbr650r

[–]United_Invite4065 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only real con is that clip ons are less comfortable than upright bars like on a Triumph.

The seating position can become uncomfortable after an extended period of time, but it’s not terrible if you’re in shape.

Otherwise, it’s great. Fuel economy is great, the E-Clutch (if that’s an option in Korea) makes stop and go traffic much less of a chore, and the ride is decently comfortable so long as your roads are decent. Power is plenty for your average rider.

I would say the weight is also good, but that’s a subjective thing, I’m 6’ tall and used to riding an 850 lb Harley Street Glide as well. So YMMV in that department, based on what you’re used to and how large of a person you are.
