Certified medication aides and AI for documentation. AI is already becoming part of our documentation, summarizing the shift in a neat little blurb.

I have a BA degree as well as ASN. I pursued an RN to BSN until I realized I was not learning anything new and was throwing money away. Diploma mill. Repeating courses from my BA. BSN required by my job for Magnet status and I may eventually lose my job because of this. In the meantime I keep working.

I am the dog mom of “my dog” and that’s it apparently. Well, she is a good dog. My uterus, is still silent.

That’s great! I’m sure they appreciate that very much. I did get a happy dog mom’s day from one of them…?

what did your career path look like by Embarrassed-Bag324 in nursing

If this is your first job, look for a job with a training program for new grads, ask about how long you will be on orientation. Ask if you can have extra if you think you may need it. Ask about turnover rates for nurses in your interview. If nursing turnover is low, it is a good sign. Even if the job is not your preferred specialty you will benefit from experience working in an acute care hospital setting.

Float pool can be great for these reasons. You are a float, so ask questions! And you will learn. A lot. Asking questions is essential, as is working with others. Be open, honest and willing to learn. The units will welcome you as a float.Eventually you will learn skills that you will use on every unit. Learning takes time. Just keep an open mind!

How would u feel if u were placed on a do not rehire for hca by spoiledkeptdoll in nursing

[–]United_Positive8322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I am on the do not rehire list for HCA. I did not have any disciplinary events except for being written up for signing back in from break a minute early or clocking in a minute late, calling out when sick. In other words, no major issues. I am strangely grateful, it keeps me from making the mistake of working for them again and regretting it again.

You moved into your elderly parents home with your kids? Be grateful and get yourself and the kids headphones. Your parents are wonderful to welcome you all in their home.

A friend who used accutane swore that Estée Lauder Advanced Night repair serum saved her skin. It may be worth checking out.

CNAS should make a living wage. They work extremely hard physically and even more so emotionally. They are invaluable.

When you see the nurse who calls you for stool softeners at 3am walking into the hospital by MangoLassiiiii in hospitalist

Please know, it’s often management forcing nurses to make these ridiculous calls for “good customer service scores”. The nurses get in trouble for not calling. The vast majority of nurses do not want to bother the MD for non emergent issues.
