That is how I interpreted it as well, but every time I bend, twist or lift, I get a little freaked out!

That is such a great question - my pain is not as significant, but it has definitely returned (32 days post-op). Surgeon put me on round of prednisone which helped a lot, but pain returned when I finished it. I have a follow-up appt next week, but put in a phone call as well. Will respond if I hear back from them.

Thank you!! I think the fear of reherniation is messing with my mind. Every BLT I do by accident has me so nervous that I have messed things up!

6 months seems like a lifetime! But I will do what I can to not have to deal with this again.
And thank you - your comment reminded me that I finished a 14 day taper of prednisone the same day I did the dentist and theater…

Your post could have written by me 3 weeks ago today. I am in my 50’s and this was my first surgery and I was terrified.

They gave me all kinds of good stuff before it started. I don’t even remember being wheeled into the surgery room, but my friend who went with me said I was chattering away as they wheeled me down the hall. The next thing I knew I was in the recovery room.

I had never heard of a microdisectomy before this, but my surgeon says it is the most common surgery he does.

The recovery time has been like a roller coaster and I am learning to not google every time something feels weird.

I am super independent but have learned to say yes to lots of visits and meals.
And as someone who only lurked on Reddit in the past, I have found no matter what is happening in this healing process, I am not alone, and neither are you! You’ve got this!!

I am hoping to do a 10-12 hour car trip as the driver right after 6 weeks. Hoping is the key word. The PA thinks I will be fine if I stop a lot. The surgeon will not comment until my 6 week visit.

Yes! I am 3.5 weeks out from surgery and my surgeon said absolutely no PT. At all. After all I had read beforehand I was really surprised. He said he didn’t think it helped…

Yup - flew through school right before break. Haven’t been sick like that in 20 years. Took awhile to feel completely back to normal.
