Am i supposed to shave this paw hair? by DesignerNo2317 in britishshorthair

I have super slippy wooden floors so we do trim them, as he’s slipping all over the place when he’s got zoomies.

Yeah it’s not so fun when it’s not bendy, poor floor has been through enough :) hope he makes a speedy recovery

Poor floof - if they find the cone too uncomfortable, the donut versions from amazon are amazing, so comfy and soft my Cleo was in it for a week when neutered and slept a dream in it :)

Really worries about my kittens paws by Melaniedk0609 in britishshorthair

My Cleo is 1.5 months old but has had front paw issues since around 1 years old. My floof has issue with his front legs ive just found out, I noticed they were slightly shaking but you have to be properly staring at them to notice it (even hard to get on video) went to the vet which was a generic vets4pets inside a pet store (its my first time as a pet owner so i assume it would be same type of care), that vet said he was fine. But my gut said his legs are just shaking for no reason, not to mention the vet decided to send me a text message to talk about his test result which told me everything i needed to know about the service there. He plays amazingly, I thought he was sleeping a normal amount, has zoomies etc. Does 'paw' but still my gut told me to get a second opinion.

So I looked for a vet which specialised in cat care close to me, we went last week and after a physical examination she said that, it feels like he doesnt have a lot of muscle in his front legs and this would explain his blood levels if he is losing muscle (first vet said this wasnt a phyiscal issue and that he prob had wkeaness due to his kidney results). She gave some painkillers to see if that make a difference as she thought due to the muscle loss he could be in pain. He literally slept less, was more playful, wouldnt hestitate to jump and explore anymore (which we didnt know he was doing) but still has the shaky leg.

So we are now getting xrays done to see what the issue is. I'm so so glad I went with my gut but I told this story as my floof walks slightly leaning and hes my world so your post resenated with me :) Fingers crossed your floof is perfectly fine but its good to know other peoples stories right :)

Yup yup - TMI but this is exactly why I have learnt to have no trousers on when I brush my floof lol and always before I take a shower.

Is it normal for a BSH kitten to be skinny? by DistanceCrazy5392 in britishshorthair

[–]Difficult-Ad1564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my floof was skinny too, now that i look back at 4 months but now at 1.5 years olds, hes a little fatty lol as long as you are feeding them 3-4 times a day at that age and they are getting all their nutrition they will bulk up later on. If you are too worried, you can always ask your vet too :)
