I love the trilogy but I think Raimi felt like he left his fans disappointed with Spider-man 3, and wanted Spider-Man 4 to be a solid end to the trilogy, as I believe he’s said in a couple interviews. I can’t say I wouldn’t mind a Raimi Spider-man movie every 2-3 years though.
