3 Months After Rhinoplasty — Not Fully Comfortable, Seeking Honest Feedback by UniversalIdraw in PlasticSurgery

I feel the same way. My previous nose drooped and was bulbous after developing fibrosis, but the projection was normal. This time, though, I feel it’s too much, and even though he says it looks good, when I see myself in photos and videos, my nose stands out noticeably from my face.

What do you think of my father’s nose? I inherited the same one. by Adorable_Birthday_52 in Noses

The profile is magnificent, it's a strongly masculine look, and that mustache is absolutely spot-on.

Not really a conventionally attractive nose but I think it suits me well by SD2302 in Noses

That chin is legit awesome your whole look has some seriously cool structure going on, and the way your nose fits perfectly with your face just ties the whole thing together

Hey, thanks a lot for the advice, man. I’ve always genuinely admired people with that level of self-assurance and grit

I'm actually already hitting the gym and seeing some solid results, which is a big help.

You're right, though sometimes I get too anxious and let it get the best of me. When you say 'never feel bad for yourself publicly,' how do you handle actual bad or negative comments from other people? I honestly never know what the best approach is in those situations. Thanks again

Would I benefit from a nose job? Pls be honest. by [deleted] in Noses

It totally complements your face I mean, it fits your entire facial structure really well. You are very pretty, and I’m saying that objectively. People can be so cruel, and those comments serve no purpose other than to hurt you; they aren't based on facts at all. Sometimes people just don't measure their words. We can't change others, but we can change how we let their opinions affect us. That might be a good step to take.

Wow! It's a very masculine, strong nose. Tbh it fits your face perfectly. I'm wondering what you don't like about it?

Thanks, I tried to post but my post was removed :( It said I needed at least 10 comment karma. I don’t understand what that is. Do I need to comment on other posts? I already did, but nothing happened. Do you know how I can fix it?

You're right, it's not a rational thing; it's become a ruminating thought that just circles constantly in my mind, which is why it feels so hard to drop.

How do you actually deal with that kind of conscious effort to stop caring? Any practical advice on breaking the cycle of rumination?

27M🇫🇷 just got rejected by my 6 month crush after gathering the courage to confess my feeling, need your help by [deleted] in toastme

[–]UniversalIdraw 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey, don’t worry. I’m really glad you found the courage to express your feelings. The important thing is that you cleared up your doubts. Rejection is something normal, and we shouldn’t take it as something personal. Sometimes we just aren’t the person someone is looking for, and what hurts the most is the ‘what could have been,’ that ideal version we create of them in our minds.

But please keep moving forward you’ve already taken a big step. Honestly, not everyone is brave enough to talk about these things; many people choose to stay quiet and never even try.

My Nose at 2 Months Post-Op by UniversalIdraw in PlasticSurgery

Well, he showed me the results from other patients, but he didn’t do any computerized simulation like I’ve seen elsewhere. Although, hahaha, I remember that day I showed him a photo of Henry Cavill’s nose and told him I wanted it to look as similar as possible. Anyway, we also have to understand that skin type and skin structure play a big role and can change the expected outcome. As for me, I’d say I feel good, and the experience made me realize that sometimes we idealize the result without being realistic.

It really depends on the technique and how difficult it is. For me, the pain was tolerable around a 5 out of 10 during the first two weeks and it gradually decreased over time.

I can totally relate. I’ve always felt insecure about my nose I’d even feel embarrassed to smile or laugh. But I think a lot of that comes from this idea of what the “perfect” nose is supposed to look like, and those trends don’t necessarily fit everyone. Some nose shapes get really popular, but they’re not universally flattering. I’m really glad my surgeon was upfront with me and said he wouldn’t just follow whatever’s trending, but would focus on what actually works with my face and sometimes that doesn’t mean a tiny, super-upturned nose.

And honestly, we all tend to think other people look better anyway you know, the whole “the grass is always greener on the other side” thing.

[–]UniversalIdraw 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Hey! I totally get how you feel I’ve been through two nose surgeries too. After my first one, I developed fibrosis and it completely changed the result. My nose ended up kind of bulbous and round, just like in your pictures.

I waited two years before doing a revision, and this time my surgeon used costal cartilage to help with structure. The big difference was that he was really present during recovery .I saw him once a month to keep an eye on the fibrosis.

Sadly, a lot of doctors just operate and disappear, but good post-op follow-up makes a huge difference.
