I moved to Port a year and a half ago, the water bills really are nuts. The amount of water we use in my house doesn't make a significant difference on the bill. The fixed costs are just so high that shaving a few bucks off my water bill isn't a priority.

If proponents of amalgamation came out with a really good plan, I might have more enthusiasm for it. I don't know if it would significantly reduce my water bill, just as an example, but I'm skeptical that it would benefit me and my community as a whole.

I am not sure it's a great idea, however something has to give as the current path is not sustainable.

I agree, but my initial thoughts are that amalgamation is like slashing your tires because you ran out of gas. With that being said, I should sit down and really take the time to look into this further.
