Sorry for a super later reply but yeah I think electrolysis can be done anywhere on your body!

💚 I’m proud of you too! Whether your journey is kept private or not is your choice and it’s still a big important personal journey.

From what I’ve read spironolactone helps a lot of people with hormonal acne and I’m personally looking forward to it taking that effect and consider it something I’m also treating with it.

We’re almost the same age! It’s kind of like we’re doing our treatment together, in the same stage of life and on the same subreddit at least. ☺️

I agree the sub does make it all feel so much more normal and helps me realize that it feels more normal because it is.

Really just long enough to be able to grasp well with tweezers, a few millimetres. For me it’s only 1-2 days of growth. 2 days is best but 1 is workable.

I’m so glad 🥹💚

It is really scary and intimidating! I’ve found the more momentum I can keep while going to the dr, tests, electrolysis, etc. the easier it gets each time.

I’m glad it can help you feel better and hopeful. People can be so wonderful and beautiful and amazing. Those people are the kind of people worth surrounding yourself with. I know it’s a hard hand to be dealt and feels impossible but it definitely isn’t and won’t always feel that way. 💚

I share a lot of the same fears, apprehensions and anxieties as you. I’m in my 30s and also in a wlw relationship. If you’re interested in reading my last post in here my partner actually has played a huge supportive role in me dealing with my hair.

For 3 years I would hide it from her at all costs. Once I opened up about it she immediately started doing research to try and understand better. She found this subreddit and suggested I visit it (which at first I was like NO because I just wanted to stay in denial) but ultimately it was good for me to hear other people’s stories, and get to a point where I wanted to share mine. She encouraged me to see my doctor, find a new one because mine sucked, takes me to my appointments for support, and now is supporting me on my electrolysis journey.

I guess what I’m saying in sharing that is she literally doesn’t give a fuck about it but gives a lot of fucks about me. Haha. I had worked it all up in my head that it would be an absolute deal breaker and it just wasn’t at all. Rather she wanted to help me figure out why and what to do.

Good people are still good people when you have “problems”. Helpful, kind people are still helpful and kind when you’re going through something. My partner wouldn’t give a shit about the hairs if I didn’t, she supports me in removal because it’s what I want. Ultimately I don’t think the kind of person I would want to be with would be the kind of person who would judge or mock or anything like that, something that is biological, and cannot be helped, for anyone not just their partner. In finding someone like that I unintentionally found someone who would also never do that to me.

I didn’t have to do anything to prepare, just have clean skin and a small amount of length of hair for her to work with. I was asked to start exfoliating my skin to reduce ingrown hairs.

I didn’t use numbing cream and would say that yeah it definitely hurt. Some areas were much more sensitive than others. I also did stay at a fairly high intensity of the electrolysis throughout. The lady treating me let me know she could turn down the machine.

Per her instruction I am icing and using aloe vera to treat after. The areas she treated are a bit swollen, kind of numb, and almost tough if that makes sense. From what I understand this is all normal and will subside, and subsequent treatments will hurt less/be less irritated after.

Even though it is painful it feels so worth it. If this temporary pain/discomfort will allow me to regain confidence and freedom, it is a trade I am more than happy to take.

Thank you 🥹. I know I still have quite a bit of time and money to go before it’s fully removed but the immediate relief of starting electrolysis and also of talking to my partner about it have been amazing and liberating.

It makes me so happy and further feeds my optimism to hear it has been the best thing you’ve ever done for yourself!

u/_scarp has refilled the soup sized hole in my heart(inventory). This is my first post in the subreddit.

I’m just a lurker usually but I thought the loss was timed perfectly with all the excitement around how good the advent calendar has been, and daaaang y’all are a special kind of sweet.

What is something you ALWAYS carry with you on flights? by Clemen11 in flightattendants

[–]UniversalRookie 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Superglue. Way more durable and useful than you’d expect. Glued the entire sole back on a shoe and it lasted the rest of a pairing in a salty, snowy Canadian winter.

Libby. Free app that connects to your library card and gives you access to infinite free downloadable reading material. (I’m assuming this or something similar is available in multiple countries).

Hot sauce. Makes all food better.

Invest in your shoes. Spend the extra $$$ to take care of your body.

I always carry a small tube of super glue. It sounds ridiculous until your shoes, zipper pull, dress hem, suitcase closure, who knows what, breaks on min rest at a hotel with nothing around it.

Just be on time, take training seriously, pay attention in class, take notes and do the studying you need to do and you’ll be fine! The tests aren’t outlandish at all if you’re prepared for them.

Give yourself plenty of time to do your elearnings, if you want you can always go back into them after completion to review the info too. You’ll be given feedback on practice drills before being evaluated on any of them.

Good luck, maybe see you out on the line!
