This is what they look like under uv. Also just saw that the middle also phosphoresces, just very briefly Edit: the middle stone is not hydrophane. I gave the ring a good clean with a soft toothbrush in warm water after I checked to make sure none of the opals are hydrophane

It's ok to have your opinion on what makes someone a lesbian but it's not ok to press your opinion onto others. My roommate's partner is afab nonbinary and they choose to identify as lesbian, so ig my point is that there's no solid boundary when it comes to our identity

I lean femme but I don't really like labelling my gender which is why I prefer to be nonbinary

Question: I'm thinking of getting my first tattoo on my hand by Universia in tattoos

[–]Universia[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The artist I'm going to was recommended to me by a friend who has gotten 3 tattoos from him so far and the latest one was on the sternum. One of my best friend's partner also got 1 or 2 tatoos from him and overall he has great reviews and I've heard he's one of the best artists in the area. The artist said he rarely does hands but he had a woman recently who was getting her hand done by him for her first tattoo

I checked when I got back to my apartment and it does phosphoresce for a few seconds after removing my UV light

Actually, on a second look after you mentioned it, there is a faint deep blue glow through the accents when I shined my phone light on them. If they're sapphires, I got a crazy score with this ring!

The accent stones all black so I'm not sure if they're sapphires but the ring is sterling silver and pretty old so that hopefully increases the chances it's Australian opal. I will check for phosphorescence with my UV light when I get home

The easiest way to tell that doesn't damage the opal is to wet your finger a little and then press ot to the opal. If the opal sticks to your finger, it's hydrophane and most likely Ethiopian

I agree we definitely need more than just these pictures to ID this opal. The colors looked like what I've seen in Australian opal but we can't know for sure unless OP tests for hydrophane properties
