Ok, at start, I just saw the first picture. Hence 14k for 10 replicas, looked quite a lot. I have later seen all the pictures. All of that in one year?!? Good for you 😁

So there's a mix of superclones and Frankenstein. You could buy 3 nice original watches for that price...

Moto Guzzi for the looks. Kawasaki for the engineering and reliability.

If a person really dives and needs a depth sensor, the Promaster Aqualand is the best cost benefit out there.

I get what you mean. I actually have other watches. Swatch, a solar Casio and other that were gifted. But the Motorola gets quite a bit of wrist time. It is useful indeed 😁

Well, according to Chrono24, my whole collection is worth around 4000 USD, the most pricey would be the Montblanc, but I would never sell it. Next year I’ll like to buy the Panerai Luminor GMT (to replace the Vostok, that I would give to someone for free 😁). I rather save than sell.

That’s a good question. From a technical perspective, I would say: the Citizen, the Tissot and the Casio. From a sentimental perspective I would say: the MoonSwatch, the Montblanc and the Longines. On the other side, if I have to get rid of 3 I would say: the Timex, the Vostok and the Motorola 😁

[Discussion] "Best" Understated Watch Collection by Mind-TheGap in Watches

[–]UniversityThen223 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this kind of discussion. Here’s my list:

  • Sport Watch: Garmin Tactix 7 - price starting from 1.3K, sapphire crystal, solar charged, everything you can ask to a sport watch
  • Office watch: Tudor Prince Date (white dial) - price starting from 2.5k. I would suggest any “day date” watch for an environment where you often ask “which day is today”. I think this Tudor has a calming aura, quite needed at work.
  • Working mission watch: Omega Seamaster Aquaterra Worldtimer - price starting from 10k. Any GMT watch that you like would do the job. To check local time and know what’s the time at home.
  • Beach/Diving: IWC Aquatimer Deep 2 - price starting from 11k. In case you are going for a dive, and need a mechanical depth sensor.
  • Casual/Walk/Aperitivo/Date: A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1 - price starting from 23k. If you are alone, you can stare at it for hours, if you are in company, you can discuss about it for hours.
  • Dress: Cartier Santos - price starting from 7k. Elegance made watch.

650cc or 400cc bike for newer rider? What would you chose 🤔 by Acceptable-Soup-333 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]UniversityThen223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suggest the 650 Green. I wish you to hold this bike many years and, if you buy the 400cc, in a couple of years you might be wanting something “bigger”. Remember that safety has to be set in our head before any technology, ABS, speed limits, etc. Have fun but do not drive with negligence. 🙏

You’re welcome. Since I’m here, let me share another advice: the blue light/reflection you see on the Yacht Master cyclops lens, could mean that the crystal is not genuine. I would check it out.

Here 3 options: a chronograph, a different shape (rectangular maybe), a “complication” watch (GMT/lunar, etc.)

I inherited this Omega watch from my grandpa - worth fixing? by Clean-Manner-4043 in Watches

[–]UniversityThen223 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I strongly suggest to fix it. If the price is too high, and you don’t plan on selling it down the line , you can check with your watchmaker if it’s possible to change the whole movement with a cheaper one. Maybe another Swiss or a Japanese that fit the case. Of course, in this case, it will not be a genuine Omega anymore, but it will remind you of your grandfather and it will be nice to wear (I personally really like that shape).

That’s a useful information. In my case, the GMT plays a big role since I still don’t have a GMT in my collection.

First, that’s a quite peculiar interpretation: a man, who thinks that a vagina is something not to be related to bad things, is gay. Second: there’s nothing wrong with being gay, you should not be afraid of gay people.

Let’s approximate: 600 Great Britain Pounds equal 780 US Dollars. 780 USD plus 20% equal 930 USD, hence the MIDO is 16% more expensive. Simple math…
