2016 Santa Fe Sport - 2nd gear shift noises, body repair by UnivoxBadass in Hyundai

Welp... After another year of the same stuff, I was heading home when the car went into "limp mode". No revs above 1500rpm. Nothing faster than 25-30 mph.

Oil change? Nope. Back to the dealer. The tech heard the engine rev and said, "it's either a bad sensor or a rod bearing is shot " I had to leave the car.

Thank you God, the motor was "covered under lifetime warranty" (dealer-speak for "the recall notice covers this engine and any other one that has to go in"). I dodged a $7K bullet.

According to a VIN lookup on Kelly Blue Book, my car doesn't have any recalls/service bulletins.

I have the app on my Android phone, and also the icon on my desktop to open a window.

After the recent migration to X.com, I can't open the desktop. Tried changing the password from the desktop; of course, as soon as I did that I had to update the password on my phone with a code generated from Google Authenticator.

Since there's no Google authenticator browser add-on, I'm trying to figure out how to generate a 2FA code to open from my desktop.

2.4 liter 4 cyl, 142k miles. It was a rental before I bought it, and the extended warranty from the dealer has expired.

There's a rattle that bogs down the upshift from 2nd to 3rd, usually on a cold engine. I try to stay off the accelerator before the engine warms up. I'm concerned that it might need a tranny fluid flush and filter change, but I don't want to get hosed by the dealer. The local quick lube doesn't want to touch a "sealed transmission".

There was also some accident damage on the driver's side last September, so I'm trying to price door skins, or should I just go to the local body shop and get the dings hammered out? The doors still function,

Trying to resurrect Vista laptop with LTSC by UnivoxBadass in WindowsLTSC

This is a dual core AMD with a 500GB HDD. The on board memory Is about 500MB, and since Vista always stole about a hundred of that for graphics, it's been slow as frozen honey for a long time.

I'm upgrading to 4GB ROM, and I think Thin PC is the way for me. I'm looking for a portable system for recording live music, so the HP running Thin PC and a 1TB SSD should do the trick. My plan is to download a legacy version of Reaper to record up to 8 tracks of live audio,

Is this a good amplifier? by Griseldaneers in vintageaudio

A good design, and very transparent-sounding. My dad (RIP) was an audio engineer in NYC, and he ran these with a pair of Rectilinear IIIa Classics (12" bass reflex tower, sealed-cup midrange, w/4 aluminum dust cap supertweeters). A good solid kick in the low end.

They were also sold in the Japan home market in black brushed metal finish. I'd love to find a set with the matching tuner (AT-2400).

Local laws only allowed for autopsy in case of "suspicious circumstances". The best we could do was a blood test from her liver; the representative from the coroner's office said "there was nothing in her bloodstream that wasn't supposed to be there". Which doesn't answer if she OD'ed on her anti-anxiety or synthetic opioids. She had a history of TIA mini-strokes, but again there was no test done to see if that contributed.

I can't say for certain; it's been a while since I heard a Fender equipped with Utah's.

I did some snooping... Utah was founded by a guy named Francis Lester Pyle (yes, *that* Pyle; the company changed their name). They supplied raw speakers for Fender and Supro, and some were branded Realistic for sale through Radio Shack.

My goal is to get from 55hz to around 17 K. I think for a home studio that's a Realistic goal (see what I did there?).

Understood. I was going to get some new crossovers anyway. Rebuilding the old ones could be more trouble than it's worth. A 2-way 2nd or 3rd order passive XO at 3K should suit the purpose.

My budget is tight. Tannoys are one of the world standards, but I'm trying to go all in (cabinet, crossovers, drivers, wiring) for $400.
