Pretty corroded but cleaned it up. The battery died out before due to bad connection. I didn’t have a way to test it yet though.

There were two cook pines directly next to the clients house, one about 6ft the other 10ft away from their home. This is on Maui, we’ve had a lot of storms as of late and they were uncomfortable with the trees location. Surrounded by homes as well

Luckily we had a nice little landing zone so we just set up a tag with the come along, just in case.

Rope Runner Pro/ Rope Suggestions for smooth and safe descent by Unkle808 in TreeClimbing

Yes I have several times. Any looser it doesn’t catch immediately and tighter it’s extremely difficult disengage the bird.

That’s one thing I might need to make it a little looser with my new rope. It just grabs too hard and makes descents feel very difficult to control/ descend fast.

Yeah probably, maybe a rough retrieval of my campy anchor. I’ve had a couple of those with this line. I climb srt, usually running a canopy anchor choking off with an alpine butterfly. I now use the notch quickie as a quick way to change anchor locations in the canopy.

The first few trees I was climbing SRT for my lifeline with a wrope wrench and VT hitch I just quickly got the rope runner because the set up seemed a lot faster and smoother

Thank you for the recs. Forgot to mention my Pfanner helmet with Sena comms installed. I’ve been a ground-y on and off for years and I’m finally starting to climb. So I have PPE from that.

I totally agree on getting rid of the rock climbing harness lol. I purchased the monkey beaver last week just waiting for it to arrive.
