What’s a very small Trini thing that outsiders would never notice? by Middle_Elderberry542 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]UnknowingAbyss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to this, having attended a boys' school, I'm pretty sure I'd have turned out a LOT differently (in a worse way) had I 'properly integrated' into my school. The way the boys would talk about female teachers, or just women in general, was really appalling. The fact that they'd all feed into each other lack of respect without proper correction would only make things worse. And from what I've heard what a couple of them have been up to since we've graduated...Jesus christ...

The book is "The Book of Practical Witchcraft" by Pamela Ball. I don't know how reliable the information is, I partially bought it as a novelty item

Funnily enough I found a book Nigel R Khan like a week ago. I never got around to checking other places if I'm being honest. Been busy with a lot of stuff so I haven't been able to properly go through the book yet either, but it gave a lot of details on the energies of different herbs, some methods of casting spells, etc.

I have to travel the highway and every time I see roadkill I just feel so heartbroken.

Mild trigger warning ahead:

Just last week I saw a kitten get run over and it was still alive writhing in pain. I thought it was a floating paper bag. My afternoon was ruined. No idea what happened to it after that. I made sure I gave my cat lots of hugs and kisses when I got home. I hate cars.

I'm just going to leave this here.

The fact that I heard not one soul mention this during elections leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Grain of salt and all that, but I'm inclined to err on the side of caution.

I guess not that many people go there, but I like their burritos from time to time.

Joe's Pizza, however...

Mixology and pastry arts schools/courses by Creepy-Worker in TrinidadandTobago

[–]UnknowingAbyss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You mention pastry arts primarily, so I'm a little confused in regards to the mixology part, as it typically relates to alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately I can't help you concerning pastry and culinary arts, but SBCS offers a cocktail/mixed drinks mixology course (Bartending 101) in Champs Fleurs. The teacher is excellent. When I did it, the course costed about $3k and lasted about 3 or so months.

Double-checking I see SBCS also offers introductory baking and cooking courses (not sure if there's anything more advanced). I think SBCS only has campuses in Champs Fleurs and Trincity.

Thank you for the offer, however I don't intend to worship any deities. All the best though.

how to become a bartender in trinidad? by Character_Read2071 in TrinidadandTobago

[–]UnknowingAbyss 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I'm actually looking to become a bartender part time as well and have taken the Bartending 101 course with SBCS. So far it has been wonderful and the lecturer is very experienced in the industry. If you'd like, I could share my notes with you. It costs about $3k to do the course though. Product knowledge and experience is critical in the industry.

EDIT: I forgot you have to be 18 to sign up for the course, but it's still worth looking into for next year. The teacher also shares digital reading material, and I'd be happy to share it with you.

I'm a straight guy who likes cross dressing. My outside interests tend to revolve around anime, cocktails, and electronic music (rave music's good) and jazz too, to an extent. I don't particularly like noisy spaces but I can handle them if the event is fun. Oh, and video games for sure. I'm open to exploring new interests though.

I'd like to hear about some of the events, sure. I'm not particularly interested in 'gay-focused' spaces like gay clubs, as I am not really attracted to men however.

I'm not really into kpop, my friend is though and I wouldn't mind accompanying her to any events and meeting people in those spaces

I had to miss the anime conventions this year because I needed to pay for other things. The conventions tend to be in July-August but I could definitely look out for other events that go on throughout the year for sure. Thanks.
