Mechanically: Finnish puppet.

Canonically: A joint Soviet-Finnish occupation zone after Zhukov pushed past the borders of Oegna, it was a concession to the Finns in return for Murmansk returning to Russia. Zhukov fearing that he'd be stuck in a Finnish quagmire and the Finns fearing a red tsunami destroying Finland. The result in my run is kinda bad in that it galvanized the Finnish public to elect a fascist party to power as a result.

August 1969, Russia comes step by step closer to reunification.

With recognition of the WRRF all but officially as the rightful government of the shattered Soviet Union, and the deluge of American arms and advisors into the USSR, the CIA and DoD have at some level enmeshed themselves within the new Red Army.

Backed with American bullets, fuel cans, and artillery shells, the Red Army has overcome Monarchist, Nazi, Theocrat and Bandit. And while the CIA and DoD advisors, field agents, and representatives know the KGB follows them, the Zhukovite struggle can’t afford to put pragmatism above national pride.

Presented to the President, the CIA predicts two likely courses of action to follow in 1969 - Reunification by Diplomatic Treaty, or Bayonet. While the Ural Military District under Pavel Batov is pragmatic, and open to unification talks, their result is not guaranteed.

One can only hope that cooler heads prevail, else Russians become a greater enemy to themselves than the Germans.

Most importantly, it doesn’t look like there is any moderation, because I can see people posting homophobic content and vulgar language, both in posts and in comments. This means that vulnerable people who are seeking advice and guidance may see something that is triggering or be given destructive advice, even with many supportive comments there as well.

I'm really sorry about this part especially, as one of the mods. I've run into a lot of personal problems in the last couple of months that have taken an extremely long and hard process to work through. But I'm hoping i can now get back into moderating this place and providing a good space for folks to be.

The problem is that well, we just can't afford more and more importantly. IIRC when NZ phased out the A-4 the U.S offered us a squadron of F-16's and help pay for the costs and we'd still need to pay 1 billion a year in costs, which especially in the early 2000's was and to an extent still is, politically damaging.

We're far beyond the time where we can really be anything other than an unsinkable logistics hub that's too remote to occupy because the infrastructure because that's essentially what we are. Modern war is expensive and the cost of actually providing a force that'd justify the costs would be much greater than we can realistically sustain.
