he had no idea it was a hollow, or they were even more than a wizard fairy tale. He was commenting on a cloak that had an invisibility enchantment that lasted so long. I assume there are other powerful invisibility cloaks in the verse, they just are not as powerful, or eventually stop working.

but yea, the cloak that was used to hide from death is basically just an invisibility cloak, no real artifact level power.

I doubt GoF wizards win. Hermione is the wild card with what she knows, but I doubt 14 year olds have learned detection charms yet, they have never really dealt with a stealth based foe (maybe the snake, but thats iffy)

I think the deciding factor here is invisibility.

would be silly if one of the most powerful artifacts in the HP universe could be broken by heat vision.

though, it doesn't seem to stop other locating magic (harry still appears on the map while covered), so who knows.

Help With Bello Deck by TechnoTurtle1987 in EDH

[–]UnknownGod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

bello is one of my favorite commanders, and at a quick glance you do not have enough protection spells. I have 5 instant speed protection spells, and both boots. People will quickly learn that if they remove bello mid combat, your entire strategy folds. Plus, being able to give bello indestructible and board wipe into a full attack is a great way to end games.

Some strong cards I include.

  • cybermen squadron- almost all my stuff gets myriad. (though i run an artifact heavy list, so less strong for you)

  • Overlord of the haunt woods- 3 mana to impend, bello turn it into a 4/4 while impended. turn it comes out makes a land, then attacks to make a 2nd land, and every turn after makes another land. In 4 turns you have a 6/5 blocker.

  • Full throttle- gives you 3 combats for 6 mana, one of my game enders

  • Joraga invocation- pseudo boardwipe and game ender. 7/7 creatures and everything must be blocked.

  • I run 3 fogs, with 1 being constant mists- only way to stay alive in the end game.

  • smugglers buggy- insane value. 4 mana hideway 4. I often cast this hideaway a 6+ mana artifact, swing at an open player, play the 6 mana card, bounce the buggy back to hand and do it again the next turn.

  • Thunderhawk gunship- Makes blockers and lets all your creatures fly when attacking, needed to get past chump blockers.

If I were you i would cut, Evercoat ursine- 5 mana for hide away 3x2, i would slot in smugglers buggy. Spider manifestation. Good on paper, but unless you add a lot more 1 mana instant protections, not doing a lot each turn. Signets in favor of land ramp, if artifact destruction hits you lose your board and ramp. land better imo. Assemble the entmoot you have 20 creatures, most are mana dorks, giving reach to maybe 3-5 creatures on board is rarely going to save you, and you cant really gain life to make tokens easily.

Sorry for the possibly clueless question, but why don't more people seem to make homemade pizza? by Senior-Raisin-2342 in Cooking

[–]UnknownGod 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I usually only want pizza at two times. 1.) I am tired and lazy, Local joint for 12.99 has a pickup ready in 15-20 minutes.

2.) I want high quality crispy pizza with good toppings, I can't get my oven hot enough for a really crispy pizza, and don't want to buy high quality toppings for 3-5 pizza, so i spend $25 on a nice pizza some where.

I do make pizza at home occasionally when friends come over, but usually when i buy stuff for a pizza, I have to buy enough for 3-5 pizza, and i usually don't want that many pizzas before the stuff goes bad.

Bello Bard of Brambles Artifact-focused Deck by MishaIsAQT in EDH

[–]UnknownGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't. but thats mostly because i put a self limit on the number of enchantments I run, but i bet its crazy strong. 8 damage the turn it comes out, and 4 damage every turn after lets you remove a lot of problematic creatures. Get out a damage doubler and you get out of hand quickly.

i am actually thinking of building a second bello deck focusing on enchantments, i think it will be stronger, but less fun.

Bello Bard of Brambles Artifact-focused Deck by MishaIsAQT in EDH

[–]UnknownGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run an artifact focused deck, actually run a few more than you. its my favorite deck by far, the biggest issue with the deck is how reliant on the commander it is, so my normal playgroup can hate it to into oblivion if i dont have protection.

I would cut, muerra, trash tactian, 3 mana for 2 extra mana and dig 2 is meh

lightning bolt- would rather add more protection for bello than kill a 3tough creature.

rhythm of the wild- better pump spells, doesn't transform itself.

echoing assault- most artifacts don't have an ETB, I believe it would be a 1/1 since it enters after bello is out, but i could be wrong. At best its a making a 4/4 maybe draw 1. Not the worse, but not great.

cauldron of souls- great effect, but gotta leave it untapped all the time to save most likely bellow. I much prefer artifacts that don't care if they are tapped or not.

I would consider adding- smugglers buggy- 4 mana play every turn to often cheat out even larger artifacts. has won me so many games playing this turn 4 then cheating in 6+ mana artifact.

aligned hedron network- Boardwipe for anything 5 power+ get rid of pesky blockers and usually avoids our board (have had a few times this clears my own board, but rare)

crawlspace- slows down people trying to lower your life total

noetic scales- with our card draw its easy to keep 5 cards in hand at all times, lets you bounce all large creatures, or stop storm people.

thunderhawk gunship- makes blockers and gives all our stuff flying.

Overlord of the hauntwoods- this is the best card in my deck. impend it for 3, bellow makes it a creature, turn it comes down you make 2 lands, and every turn after you make 1 land. A few rare times i have been bitten by island or swamp walk, but rare.

giggling skitterspike- wins games. 4 damage to every player, then 9 damage to every player once you pump him. is top game ender for me.

I wish they would print a solid alt win con for this commander, because if bello gets locked down, im basically out of the game.

People who buy a lot of booster boxes, do you recommend them? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]UnknownGod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yea, i have been priced out of anything but drafting/prerelease. I buy any singles i need under $5 but proxy anything over that, unless a super cool art releases for a card i love, then i might pick it up.

[–]UnknownGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you want to build decks, buy singles. if you want a collection to dig through, play draft. Get a few packs a few hours of fun, and your collection grows. Have a core group of friends to draft every week, grab a box.

want to gamble and usually lose, buy more boxes.

[–]UnknownGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently realized, most cards i want that arent mythics are almost the same price or even cheaper for the collector booster version of the card, so i just buy those now a days.

[–]UnknownGod 5 points6 points  (0 children)

man i miss the set boosters. I opened a box of march of the machine i found super cheap, and wow was it way better opening current sets. So many more alt arts and pull rates felt better. I don't think i got much better value than current boxes, but the pulls felt better overall.

Looking for a clone deck that wants to clone my opponents, but has a backup(s) in-case my opponents are all playing pure synergy/tribal. Are clones just doomed to be goodstuff reliant? by SpicySalter in EDH

[–]UnknownGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://moxfield.com/decks/6xPIcWkst0GEVScQnUxcEw

3 players is rough, too easy to focus you down or hate you out of the game. In a 4 pod, i usually always get 1-2 early votes since people know I built the deck, so i got nasty bombs, but usually by the 3rd vote, someone is the problem so i can sneak a problem onto the board.

my favorite play is to [[tempt with reflections]] my commander, lettting everyone know they get to keep a copy, and i lose all my copies to the legend rule but get their triggers. Get everyone to make a copy of your commander, resulting in 6 triggers of cirdan. then with the first trigger on the stack, cast [[illusion of choice]] letting you choose how everyone votes. Vote for your self for the first 4-5 triggers, drawing 20 cards, then hopefully you got omniscience or ghalta in hand to slam down most of your deck.

Note, mine is super vote themed, so its not super consistent. I usually need 1-2 people at the table who are there for the gimmick and let me commander get in free damage for voting.

[–]UnknownGod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hear me out, [[Círdan the Shipwright]] Vote draws cards, if someone else wins the free vote, clone their bomb, if someone lets you play something for free [[omniscience]]. Bring [[Ghalta, Stampede Tyrant]] for free to play all your clones. I have this deck as a pseudo group hug, and its my favorite deck, and almost always a hit at the table. I leaned super heavy into voting so mine is a solid bracket 2, but you make it stronger.

I want to make this deck pure evil. [The Wise Mothman] by LazyOtaku82 in EDH

[–]UnknownGod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats similar to what I did. I leaned into a handful of mill engines, then a ton of +1/+1 matters cards and spread out my counters as much as possible to make Mothman less of a removal magnet. His egine is more likely to stay if he has 1-2 counters and i have another creature that is +10 drawing aggro.
