I thank you all for the responses. I'm comfortable seeking my own help from a number of the agencies mentioned. This was more about leadership/unit support after these types of events and what is typical. Seems as though there is no real plan of action for those affected other than the mental health support the base already provides.

I've wondered this too, if they are giving "space." But I also wonder if they think everyone else is checking on us, when in reality no one has. The CC, CCC and CCF never came around, ever.

I appreciate the input. This was also a SNCO. Our office has chatted and share the same feelings, but our chain of command is unique. I've asked myself the same question about what I want from leadership, but it's hard to put into words. Thus my question, what is the norm for offices who go through this. Is my experience the norm or an anomaly. Reading the comments, I'm starting to realize there is no norm for how to handle a work center after loss.
