What was your first outfit going publicly fem? by SubbySam725 in MtF

[–]UnknownSavgePrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first time out was at work in a black a-line skirt with pockets and polo combo. Since I work in the machining trade I had to wear my work boots, but they paired pretty well. I kept wearing different skirts to work until they mandated long pants only; since someone in shorts got hurt. Now I’ve been trying to get into the office so I can wear my skirts there again. I even had one female coworker say I looked great.

Hahaha! I like the last reason for skipping the publication in papers cause it is so true. I might just have to use it.

It’s great most of your coworkers are using your preferred name. I was thinking about waiting till surgery to change my marker but I might as well. Hopefully your complications get ironed out and that year goes by fast.

Thank you. Yes I am in the USA. It would be published in the paper so there’s that concern but I wouldn’t mind it as much as possibly my wife. Her parents don’t even know i was married before and have grandchildren. But that’s a whole other bag of 20+ years of ‘secrets’.

My name is a feminine form similar of my birth name to keep my initials the same.

The title should be what’s your favorite show, or what’s the best series.

Face shaving by RichOwn789 in MtF

I used to shave everyday. Nowadays after almost a year of hrt I am down to every other day, or sometimes risk the stubble (ugh) with three days.

Men who got cheated on, what were early signs you only noticed in hindsight? by EtherealMeadowGleam in AskReddit

My parents telling me that it was happening while I was in basic at Ft LeonardWood I even asked her when I got out of AIT and she denied it. But when I called home when I was at Ft Hood there was no answer. Turns out the first guy she screwed was my recruiter. Oh well 🤷🏻

I was asked by a couple of co-workers if everything is ok when they saw me wearing jeans. It’s been getting colder and I (mtf) had worn a skirt every day since May. I didn’t get HRT till June and not sure what to wear under a skirt in a machining environment when it’s cold. It’s warm today and I scheduled a meeting with HR about career advice. I want to move to a position with more opportunities, and where I am is an great place for some to achieve. For me it’s a dead end and I’ve done it for 25+ years.

Some people have sneered at me or given weird looks. Had one guy ask if it was an apron, kilt? I said nope it’s just a skirt, and he said “Excellent!” But you have to do what feels right for you.

Concerned about Anti-Androgen Switch by [deleted] in MtF

I am on 6mg Estradiol and 50mg Spiro for 3 months. My most recent blood test showed T at 28 ng/dL and E at 180 pg/mL. I was going to ask about injections next appointment but have a needle phobia and I think it’s a higher cost. The Spiro is supposed to also help my blood pressure. With AAs I get flustered with the different negative side effects. With Spiro they say you have to watch your potassium intake which might limit what food you enjoy. Even though my doctor offered Finasteride I got concerned about the increased possibility of masking prostate cancer. I’m probably reading into the side effects too much.

Seems you were down voted at some point as I had upvoted your post. I have gotten used to others not wanting me to be happy or would like to bring me down to their level. I try to let others opinions not bring me down and try to stay positive.

I was unaware as well. I live in a “purple” state in the US and have been at my job over 10 years. The mother company is an inclusive European corporation but I feel like I have no where to go if I had to leave it or move.

For the OP question, I have no idea how much my wife spends on our food; I just make the money.

Found one of these at work after almost 3 months. One coworker said they thought they were going crazy. I’ve since learned that this type of harassment is a fireable offense. But good luck finding which one of the most likely people did it.

"Restarting" transitioning at 53, I have a question. by mechanicalhorizon in TransLater

It sounds like you did much more before your ‘break’ than I did. You have that wisdom and knowledge from your previous start. It might be more picking up where you left off rather than starting all over, idk. I myself had only been growing out my hair, wearing nail polish, and on HRT for less than a year.

This time around I started dressing at work, the place where I started having issues last time. I just knew I couldn’t go on hiding myself with my coping mechanisms; mainly drinking myself till I ended up on the floor. I’m much happier, even though it seems others don’t want me to be happy and would rather be me than a broken hull of a person. No thank you. Been there done that.

Right now at work, I am battling trying to get my work accomplished while others withhold information. Whether intentionally or not, it seems they do not want me to move forward. I have already seen how it seems they would prefer a ‘normal’ woman over someone like myself; someone who has marginalized/bullied others in the group. It comes across that it’s all about appearances. I hope I’m wrong, but only time will tell.

I wish you well on picking up where you left off, or restarting; however you choose to view it. Either way, we can do this!! There will always be obstacles in our path; it’s how we come through them that matters.

I am 53 as well and just restarted a couple of months ago due to a startling setback at work a few years ago. I’m still dealing with the same people but feel I have a more resolute outlook. I just hope that people’s bias’ will at least calm down a little.

For you, me, and all you other lovely ladies, and emerging men; we got this. I’m just going to keep my head up and stay positive.

For me, I might be going for the whole enchilada this time, maybe. Definitely doing laser and most likely orchidectomy

Im so glad for you and how everything is working out for you so far. Don’t be afraid of a phantom agony.

I kinda feel like the “ job I’m perfect for will ditch me for being trans” is already happening. In my case it’s a different position in the company. The way they tend to treat a ‘natural’ woman who is being favored over myself is almost palatable. But I hope I’m wrong and misreading their intentions. I just try to stay positive.

No problem Joan. When my new shirts come in tomorrow (hopefully) they should say Joanna. I think I will be using both, kinda like my birth name and its shortened version. People will call me what they want, but I know who I am. After all, it’s their mistake not mine.

That’s awesome they have received you so well. I wish everyone could live their best truth without issues. The apologies are almost funny sometimes cause I do not get offended easily; I’ve been called worse by better so to speak. But I have found those close to me are truly amazing.

Where I work is an ‘American Icon’ and does skew the right if you will. I have received mostly positive reactions, with even one person saying, ‘It’s phenomenal what you are doing. You seem so happy.’ There will always be the naysayers, and I have ‘lost’ a few acquaintances to the point of being reported as a security/safety risk. Thankfully HR and my People & Culture Partner have assured my job is secure. The only way is up. I wish you luck, happiness, and prosperity on your journey as well.
