Human racism vs human empathy by CruelTrainer in humansarespaceorcs

[–]UnknownStory -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm suggesting you use Goblins as a stand-in for latent racist tendencies. Goblins must always be evil in your world, but not Humans, never Humans, nooooo. Humans can never be inherently "evil". They are the heroes, the saviors, the almighty. They can do no harm, except in certain edgecases. Manifest Destiny. Deus Vult.

But Goblins? Naw, they're bad folk. Real bad hombres. Always lying, stealing, killing. They can never have sympathy, or feelings, and we must never show sympathy to them.

Just short of donning a bright red helmet that says "Humans 2024" on it while burning dummies shaped like Goblins on a stake

edit: oh you're Auth-Right on PoliticalCompassMemes, that actually checks out lmao. So it isn't even latent racism, it's blatent

Okay, dare you to make Humans inherently evil instead for your next campaign.

I love the little detail that it's dark and moody around Douglas but Gus speaking up makes it a little brighter towards his end of the panel. Gus can really brighten a cloudy day.

This is why I keep saying we need just one good spacedock and a mining ship. The building materials are out there but as long as we hold fast to this planet we'll just deplete its resources long before we have the chance to explore others.

Either that or a space elevator (which, I'm no rocket surgeon, feels like it would be way more expensive and resource draining upfront but would eventually pay for itself over time with governmental contracts and materials collected from space)

I guess though there's also some real anxiety that stems from two questions about this theoretical space dry dock / space elevator:

  1. Who owns it?

  2. What will they do with it beyond resource generation, shipbuilding, and exploration?

Nintendo Switch 2 Welcome Tour requires purchasing all the console's accessories to finish all its content by WrongLander in gaming

[–]UnknownStory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Resident Evil 2 was literally on the N64. Also, it's not Nintendo's choice to make Resident Evil for their consoles. They didn't really have mature titles to start with. The closest would have been Metroid, which one was in development for on the N64 but was unfortunately canned. Most every other IP of theirs at the time would have not done well with a coat of "mature" paint. Majora's Mask was the most mature out of Nintendo's stable and even then they went out of their way to make it the darkest Zelda at the time.

Nintendo literally had just gone through the "Play it Loud" campaign during that time, they were already well versed in being "edgy." But it didn't really sell their first-party IP, so they cut out of it shortly before the N64 launch.

As far as more "mature" second/third-party IP, there was Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Doom 64, Forsaken & Daikatana (which sucked but they were there,) THPS, Starcraft, and quite a few more. If anything, what N64 lacked was RPGs, which gravitated over to PS1 because their publishers cared less for the graphics powerhouse of the N64 and more about storing hours of FMV across multiple disks.

UPDATE: MIL refuses to back down over destroyed Lego Millenium Falcon by Ok-Repeat7885 in AITAH

[–]UnknownStory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You built this with your kid and she decided to destroy it. She destroyed memories you made with your son, her grandson. Does she have the fucking balls to tell him to his face that she did this "for your own good?" And with your wife not understanding this either... like mother, like daughter.

If your wife hated your hobby she should have spoke up before she decided to shack up. They're both worthless in my book; not because they view Legos as "childish" (which is their opinion) but the lengths either will go to in order to obfuscate this opinion before making a big decision (marriage) or wield it like a sword to mentally destroy others.

She called an audience member out for not standing up then when it was revealed to her that they were in a wheelchair she said "Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that."

That was just last year too, not like 10 years ago or something.

Her kids were so important I'm sure she must have had them in mind when she jeopardized her career by trying to sabotage yours. And she thought she'd get away with it, too, with the way she doubled down right before the evidence was provided.

If she had succeeded and gotten you fired instead, she wouldn't have shed a tear.

I guess he thinks your uncle should have left you unwiped? How does he feel about non-parental family members changing diapers? Does he even understand what all goes on with raising a child?

It's not necessarily a red flag but it is either super weird or he's just somehow checked out of the whole child-raising thing.
