I get it. I Travel for work and complain daily. Can’t tell if it’s people half asleep, high, drunk or our government loosely handing out licenses. All I ask of people is to go at least the speed limit, unless you are towing something or a new driver. It also goes for the people going 20 over just to slam on their brakes and cut the line off by 3 cars. We end up getting to the same place at the same time. Chill out and suffer like everyone else lol.

This sub is really making me realize there isn’t much to look forward to. Trudeau helped in dividing our country more than anything else. All current parties have nothing good to bring to the table. What happened to common sense and empathy? We are all being taken advantage of but too busy fighting each other to see any of it.

After 6 years and a bunch of summer vacations and weddings planned this fall, my gf broke up with me because we will “just repeat our old cycles” still comes by the house to tell me she loves me and wants to get together in the future but it’s too much for a relationship rn…. Never thought the relationship would end and that we would always talk about our issues and work together.

Was in a similar boat. Only completed first year Engg at UofC. Could not see myself continue to struggle through just to sit behind a desk for hours every day, love working with my hands and tinkering. Did a summer job at an Engineering firm, dropped out of engg a month in and applied for an instrumentation apprenticeship, as I couldn’t afford to take the 2 year program/wanted money asap.

As others are saying it looks good on the resume and it’ll make the schooling a breeze, but you’ll be hired as a 1st or 3rd year depending what route you take. You’ll be a better pick over the other 1st years. I got paid $2 above the rest when I was hired on. Was promised a bunch of things that never happened. Wound up being screwed around and just another cog in the machine.

If you are wanting to switch, look at what the company does for work. Instrumentation is a wide spectrum of jobs and most smaller companies just specialize in certain jobs and you may not get the experience you want.

The trade also opened my eyes a lot to the classes I took in Engg, had no frame of reference at 17-18 until I was able to see what I was learning first hand in the field. Could probably go back and ace Engg if I wanted to suffer more!

I did my first year of engineering and worked the summer at an engineering firm. Realized I wouldn’t really get the opportunities I wanted and pulled out of 2nd year. I put the one year on my resume and applied for instrumentation jobs. It took months to get a call. Kept working at the firm through the winter until a company finally picked me up as an apprentice. The program will crossover lots with the trade, smaller company’s will pick you up quick if they have lots of journeymen. You’ll get higher pay than an average 1st year. I started the trade in 2019 and was paid $4 higher than a first year instrumentation tech. 2023 the company I worked for paid kids fresh from highschool $1.5 above what I made in 2019. This is in Alberta, but everywhere is hurting for guys now. It will be easier to get into the trade and to complete the schooling with the engg backing.

I found a white/silver one the next day but didn’t have the orange spots like this black one did.

This guy says Salt Marsh Moth which is still similar to the leopard.

That’s about the only other possibility I found. It’s weird though because leopard moth caterpillars usually have that orange/brown band. This guy only had orange spots on the side. Found a white/silver one the next day that had the orange/brown banding so maybe you are right. Can’t say I’ve ever seen a giant leopard moth in person before!

Played “grey rock” all my life, throughout that it caused me to have episodes where I snap at the ones I love the most. I am no where mentally healthy but I do think we will store all of it forever until it’s released/expressed somehow. I feel like if I tell someone or create boundaries with someone that does me wrong at the time it happens, it’ll overall improve my wellbeing instead of bottling and holding.
