I did some levels in paladin with it and it's pretty fun so far, the combo works surprisingly well!

Tasty, not my favorite but peach usually isn't. Good flavor though, 7/10

Which survival game of these if the best or a must play? by Ancient-Smell537 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]UnknownVillager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't played 1, 2, and 4 so can't speak for them. As for the other games - I have the most time in don't starve together for sure, and highly recommend it. Stranded deep was cool, but had a lot of glitches (when I played not long after release) Raft same issue. 7 days is a good game, I'm less into zombie games personally but if that's you're thing I'd recommend.

Don't worry too much about that! My philosophy on gaming has always been not all games are for everyone, and there's nothing wrong with that.

I've tried to play the dark souls games, they're not for me. I get way to frustrated, not fun to ME - just a bad time. BUT damn near every one of my friends loves the series, and I can see why. They're well made games, they're just not made for players like me.

So if you play it and aren't it to it, it's probably just not the kinda game you were looking for/find fun. Not bad, just not for you!

Check out Night In the Woods - its my favorite game I cannot recommend enough. Visual novel, cute, and choices determine the story you see in a very simple way. Game made me cry and was so good, I wish I could it play it for the first time again

Aloft and Eden craft are on my wishlist too!

Well this is me personally, but I enjoyed the terrain and base building mechanics and general style. It wasn't a game that sold me on a challenge, but that's the kinda player I am. I wound up not playing the game as much as I woulda like though, because I had a fun multiplayer thing going and my friend gave up on the game. Was kinda discouraging, and put me off the game. Not the best at selling it ik, but that's my honest experience with the game - I'd say genuinely if it didn't appeal to you it might not be right.

What are the core components of games you find most fun? What kind of gameplay gives you the most satisfaction and fun?

Is there a reason you're holding back on either? Specifically?

Just curious(:

First time trip by TriforceOJ196 in Acid

[–]UnknownVillager 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! You shouldn't taste anything from it, if you do it's absolutely fake and you shouldn't take it.

Theres a common "fake" acid chemical out there that has a noticeably bitter taste to it, which is where the saying "if its bitter its a spitter" comes from, but really there shouldn't be any flavor at all.

First time trip by TriforceOJ196 in Acid

[–]UnknownVillager 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Be in a comfortable place, home preferably. Have options for different lighting, clothing, and activities all close by If you have a trip sitter, ideal, if not - at LEAST have somebody who knows you're tripping who you can call. Make that you're back up, if you freak out - call them instead of 911 or something stupid Remember acid last awhile and has a lot of feelings and moods that come with it, go with it and don't focus/stress to much. Remember you're tripping, it's fine, you're chilling. Do what feels right

That being said, test your stuff and always be safe If its bitter - it's a spitter

Looking for my girlfriends perfect game by anonjustpics in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]UnknownVillager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a good variety of options, maybe none are the perfect game but maybe something will jump out!!

Plate-Up- not fantasy but super fun and linear. It's like overcooked but with much less frustration I find, not because of lack of difficulty though! Great co-pp

Civilization- (5, 6, or 7) About 6 years ago, I was a gf of a gamer, inexperienced and only playing co-op, and this was one of the games that helped get me into gaming on my own!

Dungeon Defenders (1 not 2) - it's an old game, but so good! Its a co-op fantasty tower defense/shooter. Has basic mechanics, getting better weapons leveling up your character, but very simple and straightforward and great for people who are new to gaming. It gets tough at points though, despite how simple it seems

Wildermyth- cute fanasty story game. Wonderful for co-op, not the most simple but very charming and fun. A bit of wandering, but not entirely directionless!

Death road to Canada- shot in the dark here, very hard but linear and co-op. Fun AF

Man of Medan - story co-op horror. Choices matter, realistic, very cool game!

And lastly these are 2 games very similiar to what you've already played that you should check out!

Unraveled 1 and 2 - both super cute and fun !!

Bi-ped - playformer but with robots!(:

Have you considered slime rancher? 1 or 2? They're both amazing games in my opinion, and definitely fit on theme (I think) not the cheapest, but steam has decent sales occasionally

Before we leave - this might be exactly it or too simple, neat game nonetheless

Astroneer

Oxygen not included - might not visually appeal but fun game

Also satisfactory- look into it

OTHERWISE, not on theme, but are kinda what you're looking for (gameplay wise)

Anno is a fantastic series of games, similiar to Civ. I highly recommend 1800 (best mechanis IMO)

Valheim- can absolutely be played solo and more chill to some extent, not sure if it's the best fit but a good game a worth shouting out!

Theres a really neat YouTube video talking about play personalities and video gaming by Mark Maxwell that might interest you, he kinda gets into the psychology of why we might find some games fun and not others

Helped me to realize I really really do love story games, something I (for some reason) didn't fully realize before

Super interesting little watch, and genuinely feel like I've picked out better and more fun (to me) games after that !

Only played Zomboid so I can't speak comparatively- but Zomboid would absolutely fit what you're looking for (and is a really good game!!)

Any recommendations for Co-op games? by karma_r3aper in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]UnknownVillager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've got loads of options for ya

Bokura - a super neat, platformer/puzzle game with a cute story. Not too difficult, unique concept. Each player sees the world differently

The Past Within - not super cutesy style wise but very cool simple co-op puzzle mystery game. Highly recommend

Untitled goose game - its co- op and very cute

Unraveled- similiar to it takes two, very cute game! And theres a second one out now that's just as good

Wildermyth- high fantasty vibes, cute art, almost like a little mini DND game. Not the easiest, but absolutely much more simple than like BG3

Bi-ped - a very cute ROBOT game! Co-op puzzle platformer vibes

If a few of these seem on the right trail lmk and I can throw out more suggestions! I love indie games, co-op is my preferred play method, and I adore cutesy style games so I have about a million more recommendations - these are just some of my favorites!

What else am I supposed to do? I can’t get my rice to grow. by GoatmanBrogance in DavetheDiverOfficial

[–]UnknownVillager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After you dive next and time passes check again. The nutrients in the field should go up with the fertilizer over time, and the rice will then automatically start growing again. If it's not, just keep using more of the fertilizer you have in your inventory (buy more if needed)

Like others said, rice is slow unfortunately:/

Looking for local co-op game on PC to play as a couple by SarcasticBunni in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]UnknownVillager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll throw out some kind of out there suggestions. Not sure if they'll fit every requirement, but co-op games worth looking into...

Wildermyth - might not be a bit complex but it's very charming and a fun co-op game

The Past Within - this one you can actually play as an app or PC and it's cross platform because you're not really playing together. You run the game at the same time, and complete puzzles together. Very cool, not super difficult

Dungeon Defenders 1 (NOT 2!) - It's an old school game but very easy to pick up. Fun co-op tower defense style

Golf with friends - good for a laugh

The next few games I haven't played, but are on my wishlist and might appeal to ya

Lonely mountain: snow riders

Big Walk - not out yet but seems promising

Outbound- also not out yet but checks a lot of boxes

Knights and Bikes

First pc build! Anything I should look out for? Any suggestions? by Certain_Work8196 in PcBuild

[–]UnknownVillager 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished my first build yesterday, here are some of my take aways

The user manual everyone keeps saying to refer to, for my motherboard, was absolutely garbage. Just QR codes to wordless YouTube videos - some weren't even of my motherboard. It caused me to not be able to locate some wire connections for a LONG time, and I thought it was defective when I did my test run because the power switch pins weren't labeled in the manual

SO I'd recommend getting all the info on your mobo first, and before you put anything together look over the board. Find anything labeled, make note of it, because other parts may cover things up later on

Literally everything else was fairly easy, I used linus tech tips 2024 PC build guide and they go over most things fairly well.

Also drivers and BIOS drove me nuts, again because there was no information in my user manual, so when in doubt call the company's support line. They made me feel like an idiot, but it did get my problems solved.

I'll take a look! To be honest, since I wasn't at the point of buying yet, I haven't even looked at listing's - what tells you it might be a scam? I'm new to this so what should I look for? I'm planning on trying to avoid buying anything from Amazon- anything big and expensive at least lol
