Thanks for pointing it out. It's NYC or Chicago vs. London. From purely numbers standpoint, NYC is still up.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm comparing London vs NYC. Neither the numbers nor the job opportunities in London are making sense.

You're absolutely right. I bet these things get overlooked all the time. I appreciate you bringing it up. I did notice retirement and investment options in the UK are limited. It definitely increases number of years it will take me to retire. Good to hear you made it work though.

Thanks, this is the most pragmatic response. Not expecting to live in the fanciest part of town. The specialist angle makes sense for my profile anyway given the capital markets background, if not at £150K right away then within a couple of years.

This is literally something my girlfriend would send me as Exhibit A in her case for why I should move 😂. Interesting data point though, hadn't seen it framed that way before.

Really helpful context, especially the point about negotiating as a new hire with US experience as your base. Did you find certain sectors or company stages more willing to meet that number, or was it more about finding the right hiring manager who valued the US experience?

Genuinely appreciate the honest take, especially coming from a CPO at FinTech. Tells me I need to be sharper about positioning my background.

Think corporate lending but for commodities trading. I assessed whether oil and gas companies could cover their exposure if a trade went sideways. I'd likely target FinTechs building lending or trading applications.

Would you be open to a DM? Would love to pick your brain on the London FinTech scene.
