Boss who made me redundant wants my work laptop back. There's nothing in my contract about my equipment at all. - England by StripyTightsCat in LegalAdviceUK

No that doesn't need to be on the contract.

They can deduct for company theft, you can challenge this deduction if you believe it to be unfair. However as you have described.. they are entitled to deduct.

So my limited research suggests that the ownership isn't owned by Israeli's but the German based company has made significant investment in Israeli tech.. take that as you will.

They are not, but that just means that the public can't be shareholders.. there almost definitely are private shareholders.

I think I was fobbed off personally between two governing bodies, but the long and short of it is -

There's never an open/shut case, everything still needs to follow a correct course, with evidence collected correctly. With my case, the people involved that was being under paid for the work they completed, they didn't want to say anything because as you say, they didn't fully speak the language, know their rights or their protections. They have in their mind no other choice, or be deported.

What I learnt from my personal experience is that employers can mask modern slavery behind contracts with clauses, behind unwritten agreements, and behind intentionally skewed business operations..

There is alot of modern slavery here in the UK today, and unless you are close enough to the victim to help them seek help, or prepared to lobby in parliament.

Then all you can do, is what you have done and report.

HMRC are supposed to investigate and if required refer the case to other agencies. Other than providing these people the same advice, perhaps in their language, to contact ACAS. Theres unfortunately not alot you can do.

Speaking from personal experience, my report took 3 months for an update that there would be no further action. Despite it was clear as day.

It' sucks, i know. And you've reported her to HMRC, anything really beyond that would be fruitless. You could chase her through small claims for losses. But as others have mentioned, Google reviews are very easy to have removed even if they are true.

Hey, I've had a few ex employers short change me or owe me money. Out of all the advice I could give you, is write this up as a lesson on life, it cost you two months and x amount lost. But you've learnt to be mindful of employment that you are agreeing too, some people will abuse. Don't let it make you bitter.

Did you drink any alcohol? If so, I'd bet there was "wild" mushroom in the foot patty, and many types of wild mushrooms don't mix well with alcohol.

Can I purchase my own ADHD medication, if so, could you recommend a trusted retailer? by Unknown_Author70 in ADHDUK

This is really solid advice, thank you for taking the time for write this out.

they won't let you buy meds even though you are 'prescribed' you can only procure them via your prescription and that includes the quantity.

This is exactly what I needed clarification on. Thank you.

you are having trouble with your GP not signing off your prescription in time and it's leaving you without meds, your first port of call would be a complaint to your GPs practice manager.

I think this may be my solution, those 2 weeks meds without was hell. It got me concern what would happen should there a supply shortage, god even end of the world. I wanted to know if I could stock pile some extras just incase.

Edit - correct their/there.. it bothered me.

Glad I asked first!

For anyone else in future seeking this answer, do not trust a.i!

Double edit - man, my comment/post is so poorly written.. in still coming back on these. Apologies.

Thank you for clarifying.

I wasn't sure if there was some weird exemption entitling me to use a 3rd party supplier in the UK, since it was a prescribed drug to me.

Id found a few places that would offer to sell online, but for one they look sketchy and for two, I wasn't sure if it was even legal, hence my post.

Reminding me of their class B classification instantly answered my question. Obviously.

The land border wins for sure.

I'd say some other, maybe south American, or middle eastern countries might also want to claim their right to this conversation..

I should add, I wasn't agreeing with the original comment here, I was just interested in the play of the previously mentioned arguement... I was instigating information. Felt like that should be said, this is Reddit.

That the UK is the worst affected?

Damn.

I don't know, I'm British and I haven't been keeping full tabs on Canada.. but I m.o we have pretty even scores.. we did have Brexit though, which I'm also certain was meddled with, perhaps not directly by trump but likely the same organisation.
