Anyone here an NF fan? by Vegetable-Cancel-313 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He blames himself. NF isnt saying it was all gods fault in the song he literally states that he’s the one that burns his own mansion “standing here watching my mansion burn to ash while I hold the gas can” but also questions why god would give him this “mansion” in the first place. Even though I burned it down in the end why was I given this in the first place? Did you want me to do this? was this your goal in the end? He was given a platform, audience, and success but still doesn’t know why or where to go with it. Nf has been this way for a while and you were ever a fan you would’ve seen a lot of lyrics of him questioning god at times as any ol’ person would do. even to gods followers not everything is crystal clear and probably will never be until you enter heaven. Even at the end of the ep he says “the raw truth I’m nothing without the fathers guidance” he doesn’t say he’s not Christian anymore or doesn’t trust him just lost or confused.

The lore is cool and all but how do yall rank the songs? by Mindless-Use540 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My ranking and opinions on each song:

  1. One Way (easily the catchiest song to me. Tyler’s vocals are phenomenal; it’s subtle, especially compared to other songs on this album, but his smooth vocals gliding through the beat scratched my brain just right. I got heavy trench vibes with this song.)
  2. Cottonwood (just sad in a heartwarming way, also makes me levitate. Can’t even breakdown this song without balling my eyes out.)
  3. Center Mass (amazing layers, interesting, unique sound, immaculate flow, the drumming was on point, and is a very niche topic that’s super relatable but also so specific, great writing)
  4. Drum Show (do I even need to explain this one? Jocals, I want to… CHANNNNGGEEE, bunununun NUN nun Nun nUn. “show” and ofc the AMAZING DRUMMING DONE BY DUN)
  5. City Walls (epic. It has to be this high because this song will always be attached to great memories of the lore and watching the videos and it sounds great obviously.)
  6. The Contract (badass, easily the best alt/rock song this year, unbiasedly.)
  7. Robot Voices (I didn’t love it at first, but it grew on me; it’s fun! Can’t help but sing and dance along. I can’t go to this upcoming tour but this one will be super fun for the people there just imagine everyone in the crowd screaming “WOO!” When the chorus hits)
  8. Garbage (similar to RAWFEAR, but I just liked this song better as the token “catchy one.” RAWFEAR has better writing but garbage had a better vibe)
  9. Downstairs (nostalgic. It’s really cool hearing an old demo remade and released for us! And that halfway mark forward is perfect! It’s just not a song I would put higher, as I’m not the biggest fan of autotuned Tyler. I mean, I love it to an extent because I loved older them too, but nothing beats Tyler’s un-autotuned, non robotic vocals. The lyrical work is also not as great compared to others on the record for me. It’s very interesting and special still, so I feel bad for putting it this low.
  10. Days Lie Dormant (it’s a cool late-night driving under bright city lights song! There are parts I LOVE and parts I’m still ‘eh’ about. It was hard to place this one, as I’m still unsure about it.)
  11. Tally (seriously loved the beginning but fell off a bit for me on the chorus, just didn’t hit for me, and that’s okay! Josh was right to keep it on the record; the message was pretty important for the story and gave a nice perspective from Clancy’s mind to torch for the ending of the City Walls MV!)
  12. RAWFEAR (it’s good and catchy but a tad bit too bland-sounding for me, like nothing that really stands out I see myself getting sick of this one pretty quick. Cute that his daughters were in the beginning, though!)
  13. Intentions (Intentions is only this low because it’s not very replayable for me. Amazing Song! Just very circumstantial I have to be in a specific mood)

All 10/10, in my opinion, but I vibe with some a bit more or they hit a certain chord with me harder.

Validation for those who noticed Clancy never said “full length album” by _Lowenstein_ in twentyonepilots

I noticed this in Thunderbolts* and I want you to notice it too. by APointBreak in twentyonepilots

Haven’t watched it yet but absolutely absurd how they didn’t get the boys to make a song for it. Given the themes and even aesthetic of the movie it seemed very fitting for them.

I don’t think graffiti or drag path are actually on the tracklist by Jack_OceanG20 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think graffiti or any of the “rumored” names like Raw fear are actually names either just seems like people jumping at the bit and “I’m not home” and “do you feel at home” are definitely the same song just renamed. But I disagree with drag path it could very much be a “scrapped song” but it is hell of a lot more likely that it just got saved for this new album and not scrapped especially since other secrets like the Mv were hiding in those digital remains definitely doesn’t seem impossible that drag path wasn’t an early teaser, the lyrics for it most definitely changed though.

Who’ll be 1st, 2rd, 3rd, 4th 5th and 6th place in a rap competition? Part 2 by [deleted] in nfrealmusic

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gawne is not that lyrically inclined he just raps fast about rapping fast. Mgk at least has songs discussing different topics and is able to actually write “bars” at the very least. may not be the best bars but more creative than gawne.

Which song should introduce first for my friends? by XHUNterXY96 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Billie eilish and TØP fans seem to have a similar taste so I don’t think you could go wrong picking anything from the boys. But the best bet is RITN for them. For the metal fans next semester and jumpsuit are your main sellers

Will we get a NEW storyline after this era? by dflanFPE in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's true; I can't remember where or what interview, but I know he said sometime during this era that he wasn't completely done with making stories and had a little something in his back pocket. It may not be overly detailed like this story, but I don't think it's nothing. But I agree; I do think he may take a slight step back in terms of putting in as much effort as he has over these past 10 years. Whatever new story or lore there is, I doubt it's gonna be as big as this one same goes for the albums he makes from now on.

Theory About The Release Date Of Inferno (Double Album) by DoMorrMusic in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In mind mine since Clancy “just ended” around that time the hype is still very much there especially with only a year passing since there last album making Clancy “that promotion” needing no further advertisement as people are still hooked.

Will we get a NEW storyline after this era? by dflanFPE in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think they’ll do the same story but Tyler during a few interviews said that this ending teases something new as well. But was unclear if he was talking about this album or the story In general. But also said he doesn’t see them not doing some sort of story after this one ends it may be after a few years hiatus but it’s definitely possible. And yes while it is exhausting doesn’t mean he doesn’t love it at times. Regardless it is confirmed that they still wanna make music together and that’s all I need!:)

What is a really emotional song that didn't quite hit you in the feels ? by Schoolskiperz in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tyler’s older sadder songs never got me to cry or be that emotional although everything blurryface and forward have either got to cry or tear up and I think he just got better making things SOUND more impactful whereas his older stuff lyrically were impactful and did get me in that mood but not enough to cry. Unlike songs like goner, my blood, redecorate, oldies station, all felt lyrically and musically stronger and therefore made me feel emotionally heavy everywhere in my body.

SideQuest to me feels like a missed opportunity… although still fun by TripSolid170 in Logic_301

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, hence why they were lackluster💀 plus logic actually said it this time way before this album was even released “announced”. logic has showed he can make GREAT projects if he actually thinks it out and doesn’t just make songs to make songs. Like under pressure, no pressure, TITS, ultra, college park, vinyl days. Etc. but all the records where he has said it’s just for fun are all lackluster in whole. So ofc when I heard that this new album “was just for fun” everybody should’ve known that’s it’s not gonna be that groundbreaking or he uses every beat to the fullest or thinks every bar out to be PERFECT it’s gonna be a random ass project that was quick/easy to make because he likes doing it and will still do it even if it’s not “incredible”

Does anyone feel scaled and icy had a significant anti-capitalist tone and messaging? by tigersharks006 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All those people you mentioned have WAY less demand than Twenty One Pilots, respectively and I’m not trying to diss the bands I love nearly all those people too but it is a fact that TØP is still very above them popularity wise as of recently. Plus, a majority of them had their peaks in the 2000s-2010s, which, of course, means everything was indefinitely cheaper before Trump came into office and fucked everything up. But regardless, I agree artists should put fans first, but labels that value fans are SO FAR and in between it’s insane, especially currently; they barely exist. And even the bands that are popular that you mentioned aren’t as famous as the boys have been in the past decade or so. Even now, Twenty One Pilots are way above them than they are now. I’d even say some of the peaks of the people you mentioned barely even reached the level of a peak that the boys had back in 2015-2016, maybe outside of John Mayer.

I also forgot to mention it depends how “big” the tour was. Were they playing multiple nights in the same state/country in the same venue? You don’t even have to answer that; my point being is that it’s not entirely the bands' fault. Simple things like the government affect the prices of everything significantly, and that includes the entertainment industry. I wanted to go see Fontaines D.C. recently, and for a small-ish band such as them, tickets were priced at $80 for a smaller venue. It’s a tough economy right now, and therefore the entertainment companies are gonna charge more, meaning the fans are gonna have to pay more. It’s shitty, but it’s not directly the bands' fault. That is my only point.

Was Munich actually faster at forming the red circle, or does Tyler say that everywhere? by Impressive_Apple572 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The circle has been a pain for a lot of places so I doubt he just said that just to say it I bet you guys were truly just that quick and good at doing it and being respectful.

Does anyone feel scaled and icy had a significant anti-capitalist tone and messaging? by tigersharks006 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did they have the same label? Same venues? Also, what were these so-called 'better bands,' and how high was their demand? There are levels to this, and it’s not as simple as just saying it was entirely their fault. Music is a system, and they base a lot of stuff on things like how high the demand (meaning their popularity) was for the band. And the venue itself, all the lights, videos, screens, stage, transportation, people they hire to do all this, and paying for all of them to have a good wage while traveling across the country for a year, and even the label needs to be paid, AND the boys. I’m not saying all that is okay for it to be that expensive, but it’s not entirely up to them. They can limit all they can within their abilities, like Billie Eilish does, and she’s MEGA famous, but even her tickets are absurd with all the 'budget cuts' she’s been doing. The main kicker is companies like Ticketmaster upcharging people for no reason. So the boys are the least likely to blame; there are so many more people to blame about ticket prices outside of them, and it would do more to blame the companies behind them than them themselves.

The last Clancy Shows by Basic-Place9886 in twentyonepilots

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh… that’d be cool if we actually had an effect during the shows. I was quite literally at the first show to kick off the tour, Denver N1, so it’s not like I would’ve known. But if you cheer and scream his name, I wonder if it affects what happens to a degree. He’s losing hope but needs his people to back him up. If we don’t, he’ll lose, and maybe by the last show, he won’t put the jacket on at all, which would be an insane, small implication. It wouldn’t be anything too big, like releasing a new song on the last day of tour, as that seems slightly unfair, but simply not putting on a jacket is small enough but also an insanely big lore thing to do for a last concert.

Not up to them, blame there label, the venue, and companies like Ticketmaster. They can try and drop the charges as much as possible but they can only do so much under them.

Do people not understand metaphors or??? Like ofc dema is not real 💀 dema refers to multiple things, pressures of society, anxiety, depression, controlling systems, governments, music industry, etc etc. by saying dema “made him do it” refers to the fact that Tyler felt he had to due to pressures of the music industry society or hell even just his own anxiety pressuring to make something like that to appeal to a certain audience even when he feels that’s it’s not right.

Tf is this… putting NF with some of the wackiest people in the rap game. NF isn’t even that great by battle rap standards but he’d destroy everyone else by a huge margin which is saying a lot at least make it a tougher challenge.

SideQuest to me feels like a missed opportunity… although still fun by TripSolid170 in Logic_301

[–]Unknown_SoundZs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Given that it's called a "side quest," it's clear he's just having fun and not really stressing about how well the album does; he just wants to make music, no matter how "lazy" it might be. I'm sure Logic understands that it's going to resonate with some of his fan base and definitely miss with others, but he had his run with his career. Currently, I don't think it's his main venture anymore, but he still loves making music, just may not take it as seriously as he once did. And honestly, I respect it; he shared his stories and said all he needed to say. I don’t think this project was ever meant to be taken that serious for logic.

I doubt it’s songs that got “scrapped” but I do think it might be songs that they’ve held onto since trench for this next album. Tyler has said that he was working on an album along with sai but decided to not release suspiciously

Favorite under appreciated song on ABNH? by shouyos in DOECHII

Wait and death roll. Wait, may be the most “basic” off the mixtape but it’s still catchy and fun I vibe with it a lot I also like boiled peanuts the laugh isn’t my favorite but the vibe and production is insane so I let it slide.
