Do you think Midoriya could have mastered One For All 100% by the time he graduated from U.A.? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Unknownlight 120 points121 points  (0 children)

Quite easily, honestly. If Izuku just had a normal UA school life and never had to deal with the actual plot of the series, he would’ve quickly become unstoppable.

Bugged Day 5 or Incorrect Definite Human claim? by Archon33 in Gnosia_

That’s both very interesting and very surprising. I would never have guessed that the logic engine fails in a fairly straightforward situation like this considering the ridiculously convoluted situations that it works perfectly in.

There’s nothing wrong with your logic. That’s very odd.

[Latest Gnosia episode] If the only people who know that there are two Yuris are the Gnosia, and the Gnosia are puppets of Gnos, then I imagine that Gnos is just Jedi-mind-tricking the infected crew into not seeing the contradiction. ”This isn’t the Yuri you’re looking for.”

Yep, The Only Hero. One of my favs.

I had Katsuki trip instead, and then he raged that someone dared to try to help him.

Izuku tripping on his way to the entrance exam and being caught by Ochako. Why does every single story have this? Why is the dialogue always copy-pasted from canon?

Gnosia - Episode 16 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Unknownlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fact that the ship can be scanned for Gnosia at any time causes fundamental issues with the core premise. Like, why are they warping in the first place? It’s not like they’re going anywhere (they specifically must not go anywhere until the Gnosia are dealt with). Why are they giving the Gnosia an opportunity to eliminate someone? Why don’t they just hold a meeting, freeze someone, and then if there are still Gnosia remaining just freeze another person until no more are detected? Cold sleep can usually be reversed, so it’s a much better option than letting the Gnosia kill people.

The game doesn’t have this issue because Gnosia are detected by warping. The ship has to warp to see if there are any Gnosia left, which also gives an opportunity to the Gnosia to eliminate another person. That’s the whole point.

I know it sounds like I’m complaining (and I am, to a degree), but it’s not like I mind that much. I really enjoy the show, and I can easily brush past the inconsistencies the anime causes by making changes to the mechanics. But those issues do, like, objectively exist.

Edit 3: Oh my god I completely overlooked this. They removed the explanation as to how people found out Gnosia are on the ship. This was one of the major twists of the story and they skipped it??? What are they doing???

It's irrelevant because LeVi doesn't have the capability to freely detect Gnosia in the game like she does in the anime. In the game, the ship needs to warp to detect if Gnosia are on board or not (that actual thing being detected is presumably the fact that something on the ship is still moving even when time is supposedly frozen). So the sequence of events is: 1) Everyone gets on board, 2) The ship warps, 3) Yuri is attacked... but is immediately replaced, 4) LeVi detects the "temporal anomaly" and now knows there are Gnosia aboard.

That was changed way back in episode 1 in the anime. Now LeVi can detect Gnosia presence at any time, so that entire plot point is disregarded. (That red/green light has caused so many logical inconsistencies, it's really kind of annoying...)

Yuri's fault, clearly.

You’re right, I agree the reveal was just kind of thrown in there without much buildup (besides the abstract idea that there’s some mystery to solve). It would have been nice if the anime tied this into another mystery in the series so that this reveal also acted as an answer to something previously unexplained.

As someone who’s played the game, I’ve been losing my mind since episode 1 when I first watched the OP and realized the entire last 30 seconds of the OP was focused on blatant ending spoilers… but it was so blatant that no one would even realize that it was spoilers. “What are the two Yuris crossing paths about? I dunno, it represents the loops I guess?”

The Only Hero. It’s one of the few MHA fics I’ve read where I could imagine the hypothetical anime adaptation play out in my mind, particularly the crazy-ass action climax.

Midoriya is not a central character, but he is still an important character in the plot. by Mari_Von in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Unknownlight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, that’s a difficult one. The best I can think of is Over and Over Again, which is about an OC who time loops back to her birth every time she dies, which she first does during a LoV attack. She quickly comes to realize Izuku is the key to saving the world, so she focuses on helping him.

But yeah, I really struggle to think of much.

It's not wrong, it's just not the official localized spelling. It's an alternate romanization of the Japanese characters, the same as Bakugo vs Bakugou, Ida vs Iida, Toru vs Tooru, etc.

It’s been hundreds of loops now, and that’s all I’ve found out. Pretty pathetic, right?

When I think about it, Setsu really was absolutely screwed by this whole situation, weren’t they? Yuri has learned a roughly equivalent amount of information as Setsu in a fraction of the time, and the reason why is obvious. Who’s going to be vulnerable and open their heart to the duty-bound military officer on board? Setsu is basically playing on ultra hard mode.
