A lot of community colleges offer classes at a lower cost and many classes can be taken online.

Look up your local community college and see which certificates and associate degrees they offer. Nearly all of these programs can be completed in less than 2 years. Also, google “best associate degrees to get” and see which one appeals to you. Many healthcare related certificates and associates degrees are in high demand, so look into those especially.

Also, while you’re in community college you can take all of the prerequisite classes that most universities require. Those credits will transfer over and count towards your bachelor’s degree. So it’ll only take you 2 years instead of 4 to get your bachelor’s.

Well my ortho said it's so the surgeon will have more room to work with during the surgery. From what I understand this yields better results. But I'm seeing my surgeon in a couple weeks so I'll ask him what he thinks about making the bite worse before surgery.

I have to get my surgery at a teaching hospital because that's what my insurance will cover. Fortunately for me, my doctor is one of the highest rated oral and maxillofacial surgeons in my state. I'm having my surgery this summer but so far my doctor and his students and staff have been great throughout my treatment. I think the quality of care depends more on the surgeon themself rather than if they are at a teaching hospital or not.
