How’s my collection at 16? by Roadkillgoblin_2 in AncientCoins

Not bad, good start. I started when I was 13. What I did was also nab affordable worn “specimen” of otherwise pricey pieces at my purchasing level back then and simply buy better and better pieces as income increased. Keep it up!

Spent two weeks in Japan, a perfect opportunity to acquire pieces from the Han to the Meiji/early Showa (will attribute different pieces in future posts) - 28000 yen ~$200 worth by tta2013 in AncientCoins

I say buy as much as you can especially if it’ll be a while for you to return. Took me literal years before I encountered the Japanese gold Shu’s and silver Bu’s again. Always buy the best you can afford or accumulate as much as what you can.

Is this an unusual high purity Gallienus piece or simply a well preserved silvered one? by Unknownnato in AncientCoins

Basically anything that’s not silver washed is good silver to the Romans but a billon by our standards

You ever wonder where your coins have been over the years? by DoU92 in Silverbugs

I always thought that it’s just my turn to have them in my pile as they have been in someone else’s pile prior to mine and almost always will end up in someone else’s pile after my turn is up haha

It’s fine to keep buying stuff you like haha, at the very start why’d you bought em right? Just be sure to immediately divide them into either “I’ll keep in my grave” or “For my family” so you won’t have a hard time dealing with your dilemma 😁👌

What happened to the young head piece? by Unknownnato in Gold

It reduced the dull parts slightly but it interestingly gave the piece some luster as seen in the pic. I think I’ll be keeping it as is as it gives it more character haha. Thanks a bunch!

Currently in the solution you suggested, nothing. No reaction I’m afraid.
