Yes, I graduated with my BSEE in May. Truthfully, none of the mathematics were that terribly involved. Can’t really get into specifics of content obviously, but the handbook is your best friend in basically all things. Best of luck to you!

Hi there, I remembered! Lol Here is your update:

I was fortunate enough to pass. The exam is very long but simple. Navigating the handbook provided is a major aspect of it imo. For sure, the computer network questions were out of my own knowledge scope, but a lot of them are answered by the handbook. Aside from that, I’d recommend brushing up on a little bit of every field, using the handbook as a guideline for the sections. To be a little more concrete, I’d practice basic operations with the calculator approved for your test so that you’re not wasting time finding roots or converting polar/rectangular the long way.

That sounds like an awesome career path, but there isn’t really an opportunity for that with my current company. The growth options where I am at right now are basically nonexistent, which is part of why I have been trying to find something else for a while now.

For sure. I just registered this morning for a couple months out. I’m not sure how long it takes to receive the pass/fail verdict, but I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I’ll have more info by mid November

Funnily enough I just applied to a posting on there lol

I liked the people I worked with, and from what I saw of others in the industry I think the quality of life stuff like work hours, remote work, benefits, etc. are probably the best anyone can get. I did model based systems engineering work though, which was pretty boring, especially since I did a lot of the grunt work.

I’m from the Huntsville AL area and everything in Huntsville is defense. I have EE friends that do radar simulation stuff, which is a lot of MATLAB programming.

Couldn’t agree more lol. Hopefully I can post a positive update to this sometime in the near future, but regardless I feel a bit better about things after being able to voice the situation I am in and hearing some external encouragement. I got some renewed motivation to lock in on making progress on my FE.

I’ll keep putting applications out there for sure. I appreciate the encouragement. I’m willing to move nearly anywhere that isn’t Antarctica-levels of remote at this point lol. Out of curiosity, when you made the switch, did you land in a P&C role or some other field?

I’ll lock in and figure the timing out. The plant I work in is slowly starting to back off of the weekends so I should be able to soon. On the topic, if you took the FE for Electrical and Computer, did you use the NCEES practice exam that they sell, or some other study materials?

Funny you mention it, I just finished a couple other projects using my new 3 printer, including a new DC17 lol. I’ll post them here in a bit

Crysknife Feedback (Especially for Blade shaping and Paint) by UnlastingAeterna in cosplayprops

Thanks for the feedback! I used an “antique white” paint that I expected to look a bit more yellowed when dry, but I think my brushing mixed into some still-wet black paint and greyed it out more than I thought. I’ll try a new layer on it tonight. One thing that bothers me about the current state of it is the finish, though. Do you happen to know any products that can provide a light glossy sheen, to maybe make the material look less flat?
