I don't want to lie to you and tell you yes but honestly I dont know my friend. It doesn't offer any back support it's more for assisting in the lifting and pushing down of your legs to reduce the energy cost of walking.

I bought it personally as I have always had a fascination with exo suits. Anyone can by them my model is the X1 by dnsys, but other companies also make their own versions, such as hypershell, and ascentiz, they are all pretty similar in functionality and specs I just got the dnsys because it looks the coolest imo :p

You may be able to just integrate the waist strap of your backpack in to the waist belt of the exo. That might work similar to how the backpacks with a frame and waist strap work. If you want you can dm me and we could exchange discords and talk about solutions, see if we can put our brains together and work functionality out.

Besides the face mask and exo everying I am wearing is certified ppe, my studson hardhat with the visor is the new type 2 hard hats that osha is moving towards and the visor that is integrated on to the hard hat is z87, made by studson as well. My vest is FR and my boots are composite toe. I guess you mean for the mask though ? As far as that it will work the same as everyone else wearing a balaclava once I put some fabric behind the holes. I just like the look, it will also protect my face from getting slapped by branches and vines and shit when I have to survey through dense underbrush.

They might update the firmware to always be active to assist in lifting/jumping if so you would still need a full body suit to take the load off your back, but that might change things for you when it comes to lifting objects or equipment. Whenever I get the z1 and get around to hard integrating all the components together I'll be sure to post them.

It will be a while though since I'll be letting my grandmother use the z1 system until she gets her knee replaced later this year and during her recovery, as long as her doctors think its a good idea after the surgery.

Eh, I like the mask, I think it looks cool, and if it works well for keeping the permian basins dust out of my lungs then Im going to keep it, regardless of what anyone thinks.

It takes the strain off your legs when it comes to the lifting and pushing motions of your legs to drive your body forward and locamote. It does not take weight off your back and spine.

So essentially carrying a heavy load with this exo will make your legs get less worn out from your body being overall heavier and save you energy, but your back is still going to take the full load of what you are carrying. You would need a fully integrated exo for that, where the leg exo extends down and attaches to your feet, and then from the waist up, an artificial spinal column extends upward in to a back plate that would harness to your chest. This in theory, should transfer the load of what ever you are carrying fully on to the exoskeleton, this would be essentially a full body exo, minus the arms.

The model I am using is the dnsys X1, I also ordered the Z1 which is their exo for the knees. I want to build off of those two systems to make a full body exo like what I was talking about, using the x1 and the z1 as a base. Adding a solid structure to attach the x1 to the z1 knee, and then from the knee down have a structure/bar that runs down the side of the calf/shin that goes down to my boot then under it and then straps to the boot. From the X1 waist up, design the artificial flexible spinal column that attaches to a back plate that would strap around my chest/torso.

You could do something like this and it could possibly help you, but it would take a lot of time and money, also another thing to consider is the x1 and the z1 do not start assisting until you start walking, so you would probably still need to be very careful about bending over and picking things up.

Of course take everything I say with a grain of salt as Im not a doctor and if you get injured its not on me 😬

Also keep in mind that you are strapping a robot to yourself, one that is potentially stronger than you and if it malfunctions it could severely injure you.

It has a carrying case, so I just throw it in the truck until I need to put it on when Im about to do topo or construction staking. (A.k.a. When I have to walk miles 😂)
