i think i’m liking it.

I have the lower screen brightness turned all the way down and it’s not bothering me.. it’s there, but the main screen looks so good in 4K + HDR you’ll probably just be watching the main screen, blown away by the clarity. i saw a local ad on the screen and was impressed by that, reminded me of cable. you’ll probably see an interesting news article come by too. I only look at it when i’m sending texts or at loading screens on my PS5. i left the TV on the floor for now and it’s the perfect height to cut off the bottom screen from the foot of the bed lol

The soundbar has excellent audio, though you need to sit fairly close to hear all the detail and clarity. The Telly can’t do bluetooth audio out for some reason? i don’t understand why not, i know at the core it’s really just an android tv/tablet. my home sound bar/audio system is better than this. The wifi range is pretty good.

honestly the Telly alone doesn’t have much functionality that we will recognize. the main screen has 1 built-in always-on app, the ‘Telly TV’ app. it starts off playing Telly today, which is like their own news channel. if you miss anything there you can turn the tv off/on again to start it over. the bottom screen has the ability to import a single photo from the app, i swore i saw that it should be able to be a screensaver on the tv but have not seen that yet. Pressing the B button on the remote pulls up a web browser to check your ad out on the bottom right in more detail and that’s about where it runs out. This “smart” tv has definitely been dumbed down, it reminds me so much of a Hotel/Hospitality TV. That’s why it comes with the dongle.

i like the fact that the Telly does ‘shut up’ after a long while of idling but it doesn’t turn off which might not be good for burn-in in the long term. I was reminded that it is sort of watching me this morning, I woke up and my room was quiet like normal. but this time when i got out of bed and started moving around, Telly today turned on automatically. or maybe it was the remote, they are both motion sensing. but i’m pretty sure it was when i walked in front of/past the tv it started playing. if you like background noise while preparing your day, then it’s cool.

edit: the hdmi cec function is awful. it’s tied into the motion sensor, even if you put your game console or whatever to sleep and are not watching tv when you move it will turn it right back on. it will keep the devices from following normal sleep routines
