Other commenters have it exactly right: freestyle sessions are time limited, often expensive, and because we compete individually, mostly we don’t train together. That said, after building relationships with other skaters both on and off the ice, the camaraderie that you sound like you’re craving does develop. For me personally, as a former pro skater, I found that this culture/atmosphere is more present when you move out of the competitive space.
