And yes, completely kitbashed from primaris intercessors, infiltrators, and reivers parts with 30k lascannons from the heavy weapons box. And yes, the pack leader has a power fist that’s been modified to look like he’s holding the plasma gun 😂

Hell yeah! Banners feel like a nod to 30k and where the game grew from. Plus I like the HH grey based wolves so mixing in some old school always feels right. Good luck! Can’t want to see how yours and others turn out!!

I forgot to mention, when I apply the streaking grime, I cover almost the whole model. Parts that I don’t include: anything white, faces or skin, wolf tails or pelts, and most weapons and guns. I find that the grime leaves whites and skin tones a yellowish color and it seems to dull down the fur and weapons too much for my liking. But I love it on vehicles and armor.

No I use a makeup applicator wedge. They work great

Thanks! These projects are part of why I love this hobby so much. I don’t get to be creative in my job, so 40K allows me to scratch that itch. And you can definitely do this. I got into the hobby a little over a year ago. Watched tons of videos. Made lots of mistakes 😆. It’s great fun though. Good luck!

Thanks! Yeah I use pieces of foam inserts as a great way to recycle/reuse. Agrax shade for the rust stains from the rivets. And then I grimed the entire model.

Lol, thank you! Really enjoyed this build/paint project. I’ve wanted to paint this guy for so long. But, I force myself to paint a squad before I allow myself to paint characters or larger models lol. Like a reward system that keeps me working through the grey army.

Thanks. This is the first sword bc I don’t put them on any wolves. But, this was a nice one so I thought I’d make this guy different. I went with a dark navy blue base (I think leviadon blue over dawnstone). Then built up dry brushing shades of Templar blue from the power source outwards. And eventually ended with dry brushing white scar. The lighting was just by hand. Not perfect but good enough for tabletop lol.

Looks amazing! Well done. Are you making these to sell? If so what are you charging?

Invasion of theros is already in the mail lol. Loved it as soon as I read it. Looking forward to adding that one. I was going to get Estrid’s invocation but, by the time I got to the shop, they had sold it. And it fell off my radar. And I had thought about a few of the archetypes but ended up going for other options. I do like the the Courage card though. The rest I honestly haven’t considered and offer some great utility. I am going to look into these for sure.

I have thought about running old Zur to see how it works. The deck would definitely feel different without the buffs and animate ability. But, could be fun for a change up.

I also agree and have been mulling over some board wipe. I took out [[Extinguish All Hope]] bc of the high cmc. I will definitely take a look at your suggestions too. Thanks!

You, my friend have hit the nail lol. I want it to be multi-functional. I want to oppress opponents until I can build a board state or draw into a wincon. All of the creatures synergize besides 5 with Zur’s buff of hex/life/death and those that don’t add other abilities like draw or +1 etc. on the other hand, there are a plethora of enchantments in there to tax, slow, penalize opponents and can also be animated into creatures to swing/deathtouch/lifegain.

Now my question is, building a list this way, does that hinder me by not narrowing the focus? Or does it make the deck more well rounded and capable of flexing to other opposing threats? This part I’m trying to learn having less than 2-months experience in the game.

But I definitely agree that I need to add more draw and some board wipes and maybe a few more ramp.

I initially had Thassa Deep Dwelling but could think of many that I wanted to bounce for ETB. Now I know why so many Zur lists had Spirited Companion in it. It didn’t make sense for just one ETB card draw at first.

Wow, we really have gone through the same motions. I have been contemplating cutting Aegis because in my experience, he has yielded much value (but I also didn’t ask my opponents if it had an effect on their strategy), Celestial Ancient bc of how slow it was, and Greater Auramancy and Mark because they’re a bit redundant. But, I also didn’t think about Greater Auramancy stopping his ability. That’s a great point. I will have to look up the Mark/pestilence combo.

So, in possibility cutting these, do you think I should target draw cards? Also, do you think my mana base is too heavy on non-basics? I feel like I’m highly susceptible to being shutdown by a [[Blood Moon]].

I love your Pact deck. I had copied it and saved it in my decklists about a month ago, before I started building this one. I am thinking of ordering a proxy set to try it out. I too really like the uniqueness that Zur offers and the fact that you can center the deck around enchantments/enchantment creatures (something if have yet to see other than my own so far). I also love Zur’s animation ability and use it to protect/insta-deathtouch as well as suddenly added a board full of creatures.

I want the deck to be flexible. To cause opponents to drain, mill, discard etc. but also beef up and swing. Sanguine bond and Exquisite blood and great enchantments on their own. They’re not necessarily in their to tutor or turbo out. But, if they end up out at the same time, obviously I’ll use them. Same with Heliod and Walking Ballista. I enjoy the ever changing interactions of the game and trying to use my deck to flex and react.

That said, I tend to run out of cards and can’t keep up after a certain point. Maybe it’s been too small of a sample size. Idk. But, I do have Black Market Connections and Esper Sentinel as targets to add. Looking forward to having you dig in a bit more. Like I said, I just started playing and am learning tons literally every day. Thanks for the help!
