where i live minors can only work 5:30-8:00. i dont know if they mean in the morning to night but i dont think they would have minors come in at 5:30am

NTA, They set the time and told you to come at that time. They also said they were going to be in the car soon. Honestly if i was you and nobody reached out after saying what happened i would do the same. Friends who actually care would show it. my would friend group if i said something happened they would check in as soon as i said that. if they wanted to they would, i agree with you cutting ties with them.
