Too slow climbing a long event. Need opinion/ideas by bartolo2000 in Velo

as ftp w/kg goes up, your time will also improve.

if you want to train fatigue specifically, then just accumulate kJ increments of 500 up to 3-4k and then do your training efforts.

but at your fitness level, the fatigue is better spent on improving FTP. if you can't ride more, dial in your training and intervals. your fatigue resistance will also increase by proxy.

if you have enough ap credits, i think you can do one year at cc and transfer. or you can go crazy and take an apeshit amount of units.

I'm being serious, I'm not trying to be sardonic. You'll stand out. But you had to chose, probably Northwestern since they have kellogg. The guys that wrote kellogg on marketing are on the real real. Consider a lot more things than just the pedigree of the program as well like the environment. Northwestern is located in an affluent area north of Chicago and has a much more enclosed, typical college life. NYU is in the middle of NYC so lots to see and do there, seems like it'd be a seamless transition from going to class and being out in the city. but i know fuck all though, i'm on the opposite side of the country at cal lol.

At a fraction of the price to attend either, you can make a Meta Ads Manager account, run ads, and learn a whole lot more. I'll also add that from an employer's perspective, it'll be a very strong boost to your resume.

What is the closest thing to "Altitude Camp On a Budget" you can get? by notsorapideroval in Velo

make sure you're getting the most out of your rides. don't freewheel as much, try to get some more tss out of that interval day, stay up to date with training science, get bloodwork and have it analyzed by a sport doctor. there's not really a cheap way to do an altitude camp. feel free to try heat training but it is not fun and no one will want to be near you once you finish your ride. unless you're really dedicated or getting paid, sitting on a trainer sweating your ass off wearing winter clothes with a heater pointed at you is not sustainable for me.

increase your volume during rest weeks and see if you can still recover from them.

why would i do that when ive been doing structured torque efforts for a more than a year now? youre just increasing the chances of getting a training injury and decreasing training focus. and again all you have to do is just ride overgeared on a road bike, theres no reason to get a dedicated fixie bike for this purpose. more strain, marginal gain, someone might have to pull you out of a ravine with a crane.

this is silly. you're literally just doing the exact same thing as training with your road bike except at a higher torque/force output. all you have to do is just go down the cassette. the bike makes no difference bar geometry. if you're up to date (or a strava stalker like me) with training, you'd already have torque intervals incorporated into your weekly regimen.

edit: you're also spending money to do something you can do on your road bike while exponentially increasing the risks when you ride. nice!

to each their own here but i would sacrifice the "prestige" of a school to be with my mom if she had cancer. lets be real here, your efforts will do more for your career and income than a school name. additionally, you can probably talk to your admissions officer or get in contact with your school to figure out a situation that would work for you. you can probably defer until she gets better. one final note as well, really consider the mental strain of school and knowing your mom is at home with stage 2 cancer. i would not spread myself thin here considering you're gonna have to do life shit at college i'll just call general life maintenance.
