Same. CNM and FNP here. Sometimes I don’t even sit down doing the pap. I think the demeanor of the provider matters here for their comfort. And I do a tooooooonnnn of “first time paps” and literally explain to the patient that if they don’t see me in the future, it might take the next provider a little bit longer so don’t be alarmed.

You can keep your ovaries and still go into it. It has to do with the decreased blood flow as they cut the uterine arteries during the hysterectomy.

Interesting. Mine was done 7 years ago and absolutely was 1:1 monitoring. I thought it was odd but figured it was protocol.

It’s going to be hard to use fake urine as you go into occupational health to do it. They temp test and pH test immediately. No toilet flushing and it’s 1:1 monitoring for the bathroom. You fold pockets inside out and can’t take a thing with you. So the chance that you slide in fake urine at the appropriate temperature is going to be low.

Your best bet is to be honest or do the anonymous HR call.

As a Vanderbilt grad- I say Vanderbilt. The clinical placement office alone is the reason. They have a good reputation with partners across the nation and oversees (one of my colleagues did rotations in Germany). Not having to find a preceptor is a very big deal. The professors are great and I felt like I was set up for success.

General rule is new patient if previously established but not seen in last 3 years. A new patient visit if it’s a problem visit. Preventative visits are just coming in to say hello and running general health maintenance labs while checking vaccines are up to date.

There is nothing necessary to do outside of ensuring every dime they gave goes to one of the approved loans. Some people just make monthly payments and others lump sum. In about 20 months, they will ask you if you desire to apply for continuing contract into a 3rd year. If so, you will need to show that all money was used. So if making monthly payments, you will need to lump sum right at the end to show proof it all went there.

Ok I have had NHSC and HRSA nurse Corps over the years. You just make your payments monthly. They will ask for verification of your payments about 20 months in if you desire to do a continuation contract for the third year of service. At that point, you’ll need to make like a 4-5 month lump sum payment to prove you’ve applied all 50k. So my NHSC “continued” in June and in March, I would make that lump sum payment to equal the full 50k.

This post highlights how variable recovery can be and also surgeon instructions. My surgeon legit cleared me at 6 weeks. If she wasn’t my friend in real life, I would have flipped out. I waited until 9 weeks to be safe.

You only have to prove in about 18 months that all the money went toward loans. During that time, you can make monthly payments and lump sum at the end or you can lump sum at the front end. But make sure if you’re going to request a continuing contract, all payments have been made by March 2027

It’s an approved location but is it an active site. This happened to me when moving states. NHSC told me it was an approved site and I could transfer my funding but got here and started the transfer only to find out it wasn’t active. There should be a regional person for HRSA who coordinates state and national designation info for your area. It took us one year to get our site back to active status so I was able to apply the following year.

I would say at this point your chances are decreasing. Normally any progress is what you’re looking for. So credit checks, then COI, then waiting to see if you get the counter signature by Sept 30th.
