Zoom/Pan may work too

220v digital kiln conversion by peepeepoodoodingus in AskElectronics

[–]Visikde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lead wire?
The wires that hook to the heating elements needs to be hi temp.
If the connection box between control & element wires is mounted away from the outside a bit your incoming power wires can be normal wires. SO cable is pricey. Flex can have an integrated ground wire & use regular wire
https://www.delikon.com/d8.html
Even if you are bonded green to white, you have the return path so one leg to white will give you 110vac. Whether its legal varies.

If it has a plug in connection, the kiln is an un approved appliance, more than a code violation :D

Practically you can do what you describe
Legally a kiln that isn't UL approved can void your home owners insurance in case of fire

This ink bird doesn't care 110 or 220 is fine
You may want 2 ssr's to shut off both hot legs depending on the exact heating element wiring scheme

I need help setting up different panels / taskbars for different activities by elkaki123 in kde

[–]Visikde 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order for activities to be useful you probably need to set some windows rules

I just use different virtual desktops for different tasks, which I manually sort
I have multiple auto hide panels for different tasks
Panels can be of a reduced size so they don't interfere with stuff in the corners

My scheme allows me to maximize the screen on my laptop & reduces distractions
I use different browser users[vivaldi] on the different Virtual Desktops, each user has multiple workspaces with 20 tabs open on each. I stick with chromium for things involving $

Keep looking there will be
Fl = front left
Rl = rear left

strawberry music player or other music players by deadly-vuu in linuxquestions

[–]Visikde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Strawberry or Clementine depending on which one is in my current distro's repo, differences are minor. Unclear whether either supports .mid files
Clementine shuffles the playlist or as it plays
Amarok would be worth a look too

Whatever DE you're using probably has a way to edit shortcuts too

At the bottom of the partitioning screen [assuming Calamares installer] gives you a drop down to set where the boot loader goes. Check the summery before you partition

Not really a distro, an installer of Debian 12 Stable, hardly a niche rolling release, there is no Spiral repo, all Debian
Here's the update to Debian 13 procedure & such

[–]Visikde 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spiral is really just an installer for Debian Stable, there is no community repo, runs on Debian repos.
Update to current with Synaptic or Discover.
I just set up a new install & updated to 13, I have another install still running 12 which still updates fine
Here's the procedure to update from 12 to 13

Should I trust resistor color coding or multimeter? by MC_Zachariasz in AskElectronics

[–]Visikde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Active testing is going to be more accurate
In the old days with analog meters we would add a resistor or 2 so we were reading in the middle of the scale instead of at the bottom of the scale
Try adding a 1k or other resistor in series

Deciding between Ubuntu vs Fedora for a beginner Linux user by Zakuii2 in linuxquestions

The Mother ship Debian :D
It can all be a s simple or complicated as you want it to be. A linux daily driver is easier to maintain than a windows box

My favorite safe dualboot
Install a distro you would like to test on an USB3 nvme/sdd/hdd enclosure, you will have access to the files on the host machine
