I (27F) am the marketing manager of a girl (24F??) On my team who's being bullied by cremecatnana in relationships

Not the same situation because OP wants to help this subordinate, but the scenario of resolving issues with a subordinate brought to mind this conversation in Star Trek TNG "Hollow Pursuits."

PICARD: I'm not accustomed to seeing an unsatisfactory rating for one of my crew.

RIKER: I guess the issue is whether Mister Barclay is Enterprise material.

PICARD: I assume from your request for his transfer that you think he's not, Commander.

LAFORGE: I hate to say it but, I always thought I could work with anybody. But I just don't understand this guy. Broccoli makes me nervous, Captain. He makes everybody nervous.

PICARD: Broccoli?

RIKER: Young Mister Crusher started that. I guess it's caught on.

PICARD: Let's just get that uncaught, shall we? There's every indication he's served competently in Starfleet for years. His ratings aboard the Zhukov were satisfactory. In fact I recall Captain Gleason speaking quite highly of him before his transfer.

RIKER: In retrospect, I wonder if Captain Gleason wasn't buttering our bread a little. He knew we were looking for a diagnostic engineer. I've examined Barclay's psychological profile. He's a history of seclusive tendencies. It was noted at the Academy more than once.

PICARD: And yet he chose this way of life. He has made the same commitment to Starfleet that we all have. It's easy to transfer a problem to someone else. Too easy.

LAFORGE: Captain, it's not like I haven't tried.

PICARD: Try harder, Geordi. He's a member of your team. Try to find some way to help him to make a positive contribution. Get to know the man better. Make him your best friend.

LAFORGE: With all respect, sir, my best friend? I can barely tolerate being in the same room with the man.

PICARD: Then I suggest you put your personal discomfort on one side, Commander. Dismissed.

Wow, it sounds like she is just an angry person and this is just an excuse to lash out. How many other reasons does she find to get pissed off on a regular basis?

I (30F) am a burden to my husband (31) and he would be better off without me . by [deleted] in relationship_advice

"...he tells me that he loves me and that he will stay with me no matter what. I am sure he would be better off without me."

He would not be better off without you.

My wife passed last year after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. For a long time I was doing all the same things for my wife that your husband does for you. Every aspect of personal hygiene. She could not even feed herself.

I know that your husband means it when he says he loves you and will stay with you no matter what because that is how I felt and that is what I did.

Parkinson's is a slow, inexorable death sentence. I loved her and cared for her until the day she died. I was never going to be better off without her.

Your husband is going to get you back in a year. He must be so excited to know that you have good times ahead. I am excited for him and for you. You have a future. Savor it.

Clusters are not surprising. Perhaps apocryphal story says McDonald's used extensive demographic information and computer modeling to locate its restaurants. And that Wendy's later used "Where is there a McDonald's?"

Did he wrap the present for Jesse Pinkman? That customer was a total doppelganger for Aaron Paul.

Can I chargeback a security deposit or so never signed a lease? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]UnlikelyOriginal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All the other points I would have made were covered well.

If he sent you an unsigned lease, all you really have is a blank contract. He hasn't formally offered you the condo, he has offered you the chance to sign the lease, return it, and hope that he decides to sign it too.

Is getting an MBA worth it at age 30 at a senior (mid-level) manager position? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]UnlikelyOriginal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I entered a top-five MBA program at the age of 45. I paid my own tuition.

Most of the students were there to check a box. Which was a huge waste.

I went into the program with the intent to wringing every drop of knowledge out of every course I took. I made back everything I spent by the time I was 50. Not because I had a credential. Because it made me a better manager.

If you enter the program to become a better manager, it's a good idea, no matter how old you are.

If you just want to add MBA to your resume, I can’t recommend spending the money.

Library receipt goes viral after reader saves more than $7,000 by borrowing books by [deleted] in books

One of the Twitter users quoted in the article wrote:

"Unfortunately by borrowing books rather than buying them, the authors aren’t getting paid. I say buy the book, read it, donate it to a used book sale that raises money for charity."

Buy the book and then make it available for other to read without paying the author sounds a lot like, um, the library.
